Superb!

We spent 3 nights in Uldale, eating once in the Snooty Fox (average - see review) and 2 subsequent dinners at Mae's. The dining room is really picturesque and the walls are lined with local artists work which are for sale at reasonable prices. On Saturday night, we had 3 courses for c£16 per... read more

An idealic location with a good range of homemade cakes and temptations to spend on small gifts. However, the ambiance lacks friendliness and any form of discourse with the owner and the waitress who served us which is so untypical of the area. I am Led to believe there are some good evening events and entertainment .

We went to Mae's in the week and had the most delicious cakes and scones together with beautifully blended tea. Went again tonight for an evening meal and it was mouth watering. Mark is a very talented guy who brings out the best flavours possible. This is seriously a gem of a tea room / restaurant and can highly recommend.

We stumbled across this little gem whilst driving round the lake district. It's located in a beautiful old school building. Upon entering it was a little unclear what we had to do, so we took the last available table and eyed up the menu. We decided to go for the afternoon tea option, despite it being lunch time. I ordered... More

We went here for lunch having stumbled upon it whilst driving around the Lake District and I have to say I was hugely impressed! One of the best afternoon teas I have ever had, and the bread (that is used for the sandwiches) is to die for! All in a fantastic setting of the old school hall - if you're... More

This is a very quiet place for afternoon tea, hidden on the edge of the Lake district, the staff are very friendly and the food second to none, home baking like your Mother used to do. Well worth a visit.

Wonderful quirky tearoom situated in beautiful rural surroundings. Very friendly and helpful staff, with some lovely pieces of artwork which we purchased whilst here; a momento of our time in the Lake District.

A little bit of the beaten track. Very friendly staff, some of the meals are a little bit small for the price. Scones are beatiful

Popped in here for a quick bit with my dad. Good selection for food, drinks and meal of the day, plus if you want to be different try ordering off menu or a combination eg I ordered sandwiches, chips and cheese with a bottle of red. The place has changed since I was last there are there is a nice... More
