Friday night was Curry night. First time for an evening meal and it lived up to the standard we have come to expect from Mae's. We always bring our visitors here for lunch/afternoon tea but we have never been in an evening. We will be back.

Superb cafe / gallery full of charm and amazing quality food and drinks. Dog friendly. Will be returning here every time we visit the Lake District from now on.

I live locally and Mae's is top of my list for lunch any time and dinner Thurs-Sat. The staff are always helpful and willing to lay on whatever you want. I had a business coffee there the other day and they were even happy to open early if it helped me. Food is all home cooked and reasonably priced. Fire... More

I have visited this unique Cumbrian tea room several times and most recently in the first week of January. As always, a very warm welcome from the owner, Mark and, a feature also most welcome, a roaring fire on a very cold day!The food is always excellent, whether it's tea and cake, a bowl of warming soup, a sandwich or... This is the second time we have been to keswick & both times we have visited Mae's tea room. The staff are lovely and the food is beautiful and worth every penny. All of the cakes are homemade and they all look so good i wanted to try them all :-) We sat on the chairs infront of the log... More

We do enjoy our cafe runs in South Scotland and the North of England and this is the best we have found in Cumbria - a true hidden gem, that picture window over the stunning countryside, the at home feel and welcome, sincere folk who pride themselves in their business - spotlessly clean, and good honest food which was that... Uldale isn't somewhere you'd necessarily think of visiting on a trip to the Lake District, but it's well worth it, not only because it's a pretty little Cumbrian hamlet but also because it's home to Mae's Tea Room & Gallery. I've been visiting Mae's, usually on a bicycle, since soon after it opened. The owners, Mark and Emma, took on... More

Very quiet when we went but service and food very good. Lots of homemade cakes. Pleasant surroundings. Brought back lots of memories of school, good ones of course.
