Pleasant cafe serving good tea

I had a pot of tea and some gluten-free lemon drizzle cake. The tea was excellent, the cake was good. The staff are friendly, the cafe is pleasant if a little on the warm side, and the location is very nice.

Classic old school tea room - perfect for unwinding after a hearty walk in the countryside; opposite a lovely country church. If you are lucky and extremely polite you may get the recipe for the amazing scones!

This tea room looks lovely, but it is hardly ever open - just sometimes at weekends. It's such a pity as it is probably the best view in Sedbergh, overlooking St Andrew's Church and down Finkle Street. It does absolutely nothing for Sedbergh to have a café in such a prominent position that is almost always closed.

On a dismal day a friend and I chanced upon this cafe, having originally decided to have a pub lunch! We glanced at the menu on our way to the pub and were ''hooked'' but the choice, particularly since I am a vegetarian and several of the options were non-meat and sounded interesting. The welcome was warm, service friendly and... More

The lights of this great little café shone like a beacon through the gloom of the very wet Sunday afternoon. A friendly welcome and good, fresh food soon warmed us up! Lovely!

We met some friends here for afternoon tea. Having never been to Sedbergh before we really enjoyed the day. The staff at the cafe were warm and friendly and the cream tea was delicious. It is a lovely traditional cafe in a lovely old town. We would like to go back to visit the antique shops.

Called in for lunch after the cafe we usually use was closed. Very disappointing. The service was slow even though it was pratically empty. The carpet looked filthy but then who puts a cream carpet in cafe in a town frequented by walkers in muddy boots. We ordered toasted sandwiches which were straight out of a breville which makes them... More
