Average meal. The restaurant is trying to be more than it is. Service was average. Forgetting people's food wasn't great. Dropping cutlery on people when removing plates. I had hoped for more. Reading the reviews on here and seeing the menu I was quite excited to go but having eaten at high end restaurants where the whole experience is flawless,... More

My partner and I ate here during a recent short stay in Arnside. My partner had driven past whilst working in the area, and the hotel we were staying in also recommended it. We booked a table - booking is recommended, it was busy on a wet Wednesday night! - and although we were a bit early, staff took us... More

Number17 although near a busy junction with the A 6 and Arnside road is a peaceful light and airy eatery with a most attractive assortment of very tasty dishes . Private parking is free immediately behind the establishment . Taken lunch there twice late last year and both myself and lady friend most satisfied with all the attention to detail... More

I asked for the latest lunch booking on New Years Eve and I was booked in for 2.30pm. However, when myself and four guests arrived (a few minutes late) we were sat down and told to order quickly as the kitchen was closing down and the staff were going home. Both my husband and best friend are vegetarian and had... More

Went back with a couple of friends about a month after a very disappointing visit & am relieved to say it was back to it's usual exceptional self! I had the duck & ham hock to start and I have to say it was excellent, well balanced & a good eat. The other 3 starters on the table also got... More

Just finished a fantastic meal with 5 friends, great service and top quality food. Waitress was really attentive and could not have been more helpful. Will definitely come back again.

We sat in window downstairs. Nice table. Lovely soft music, not charts or too loud Girls were lovely Nice lighting, not too harsh not too dark Nicest smelling toilets I've ever been in Clean Bar looked well stocked although we just stuck to the table water (which is always a sigh of a good resturant to me) Salt and pepper... Nice restaurant, pleasant staff and lovely presentation. The food was all a bit too rich and heavy for my liking... perhaps too ambitious and too many flavours. And the service was a little slow. But all in all, it's worth a visit!! :)

Family event to celebrate my parents diamond wedding. Despite being Christmas Eve all aspects were excellent. Only complaint was too much. Menu not pretentious but great quality - definitely recommend if you're in this part of the world
