We live in Broughton and eat here quite regularly because we know we can rely on the food being excellent, often with very unusual specials. We always have to book as it is very busy, especially with locals, which is always a good sign. The staff are excellent too, nothing is too much trouble and they always serve with a... More

Had a Christmas roast here a couple of days after Christmas. Food and services were good, and the local ale an interesting mix. Very traditional feel to it, and darts were on the TV in one of the rooms! Obviously patronised by the local, a good sign

Cosy pub, friendly, helpful staff, tasty food. Low ceilings and doorways mean taller people have to "Duck or Grouse". Very welcoming.

Old, low beamed, village centre pub. Ate there twice during our stay in Broughton and was impressed with the locally sourced, freshly cooked food, from fairly typical pub menu, with daily specials. Very friendly and efficient staff. Small, central bar reserved for drinkers, and upper level area in back shows TV sports.

We were staying locally and so we booked a table in advance. It does get busy but it's a lovely pub. They were happy to accommodate our well behaved dog also which is a must when on holiday! We had the lamb stew and dumplings and local sausages (from the butcher over the road!) With bubble and squeak mash. It... More

This is another pub in Broughton with a recently new person in charge. I my case I only visited for the beer. I noticed that most of the tables were occupied with people eating which tend to suggest that the food is good. The beer was excellent. It is nice that there are now three excellent pubs in Broughton again.... More

Excellent food and service. Always prepared to a high standard. Well recommended. There is the main menu and a specials board which always has a choice of four different mains.
