What a Pub!

A hidden gem in the Duddon Valley. Do not pass this pub as it is very welcoming. A great range of items on the menu all served up until 9pm on most nights. A range of ales and a decent pint of Marston's Oyster Stout for the Guinness lovers. A friendly pub run by a great team... Thanks for the... read more

Booked a cottage for a long weekend. Started the break on route with a late lunch in the Newfield Inn. I had scampi & my other half had Cumberland sausage both were huge, tasty & piping hot. The Corby Amber beer is amazing, so fruity, smooth & clean. It is obvious that it is well looked after. Returned the following... More

We called in while driving through the area--it was worth it. Very warm and friendly, good choice of beers. The food looked good. It is well off the usual routes but worth finding.

I have been to the Newfield Inn several times while walking in Duddon Valley and round Broughton, and always find a warm welcome with great food and excellent local beers. This time, I was arriving having crossed the Park Head Road over from Broughton Mills on a Sunday. I got there at about 1pm and, while reasonably busy, I was... More

We always pop here for a bite to eat when we stay at Turner Hall Farm. A great gem of a pub which on warm days you can enjoy the large beer garden. I had the beef in red wine which was very tasty & my other half had the T-bone steak which he said was delicious. A warm &... More

We have been using the Newfield Inn regularly over the past few years and they never fail to provide good ales, lagers & cider. On this visit we had the home made steak pie and a lasagne - both excellent and the garlic bread was superb. Chilled atmosphere, always a pleasure.

This was our second time here, during our 6 day Classic ride with Cumbrian Heavy Horses. We stayed next door this time at Seathwaite Inn, which was nice. The food and service at Newfield Inn are both excellent and thankfully, they have not tried to hide the old ambience by "modernising" with chrome and glass. Quite cozy, and seems popular... More

We ate here three times whilst staying up the road. The ham shank I had was a whole pig! Very tasty, good beer and a friendly welcome.

We had food here twice whilst staying in the area. Typical pub grub affair. It was decent food and the portion sizes were very generous. As vegetarians there were two choices for us on the menu and an additional one on the board, which is better than a lot of places offer. As well as the usual drinks they also... More
