Traditional pub, with up to date goods and services. Very impressed by the property itself, fantastic slab floors beams and......a wood burner! Warm welcome, friendly staff, excellent service, excellent food, reasonable prices and ........clean loos! On my list of excellent Lake District pubs.

Happened on this little beauty in the middle of a fell run and stopped for a 'light lunch and pint' . It was so good we went back the following day for a full meal and a couple more pints. There was a good selection of local beers, and it all seemed well kept and served. The food was good... More

I was taken here by a friend for a lunch, the food menu was a good choice of standard food and other "exotic " dishes. I had the ham,egg and chips, the plate was covered in ham, portions was of a good size and hearty.the service was quick even though about 15 walkers came in just as we ordered and didn't... More

We had planned to visit this pub after a long day walk in the area, it looked good from the outside. We didn't however stop to sample the food as the veggie selection was limited to two options - one being pasta in tomato and basil sauce for £8.50. This is a meal which I could make for around a... Thank you for taking the time to write the review of your brief visit. On the menu we have 3 "veggie" starters, which can also be had as light bites. We have 4 veggie main meals on the menu and on the date of your visit we had 2 veggie meals on the Specials Board. We cater for children and... More

Have just returned from a fortnights stay in the Duddon Valley and feel the food, ale and company in this pub were superb. Over a number of visits my family and I ate various meals from the menu and specials board and without exception the food was of good quality and value. A great place to relax after a hard... More

A fantastic pub up the Duddon Valley. I visit regularly and consistently it is very good. Nice little garden out the back when it's sunny, albeit a little small when busy. It's nice that the pub as far as I can see holds to its opening times (all day) and serves food again within its published hours 7 days a... More

We are regular visitors here during our trips to The Lakes. It's gone up and down a bit over the years but this year we were very impressed. Food was lovely and an excellent selection of beers. A real traditional Lakes pub and the only thing stopping me giving 5 were the slightly high prices, but then it is a... More

The Newfield has long been a haunt of ours when travelling in the Duddon Valley. Great local food, well cooked and at very reasonable cost. The Newfield is the only pub in the Duddon Valley and is popular with walkers and passers by alike. T-Bone Steaks are about as big as you can find anywhere and very tasty and well... More

Stayed at the nearby campsite, with the Newfield Inn only a 10 minute walk away. Cosy, traditional inn with great food. First night tried the tasty homemade soup and delicious battered cod and chips. Second night had the lamb casserole, both meals excellent. Nice selection of real ales.
