Marie barrows is a Widnes institution!! Having moved back to Widnes after 10 years away and suffered appalling chippys, this was a breath of fresh air to once again have good old fashioned traditional chips served by always friendly staff and very reasonably priced! Would recommend to everybody!!!

I have visited Marie's chippy numerous times since my first visit last November, and it has to be noted that the high quality of the food never wavers, I will be visiting for years to come.

After hearing so much about this place I had to see if all the reviews were true - they were! Best chips we have had in ages. Will go back again.

Living quite close I am lucky to be able to get my chippy lunch frequently from here. The fish and chips are super and they have smaller fish too.Very popular with everyone including workmen.

I have been going here every Friday since it was recommended by a friend a couple of years ago. The best fish, chips and mushy peas I have ever tasted and the girls behind the counter are lovely. Wouldn't go to any other chippy.

The fish and chips at this chippy are gorgeous. I have been hearing about it for a long time but have only just got around to going. They remind me of the chips I used to get when I was a kid. Try it and you will enjoy. It is not open all the time, only Mon to Fri lunch... More

Visited this chippy today - wow! Fish & chips served the way they used to be, sensible sized portions that leave you feeling content, not bloated. A choice of large fish or small fish depending on your appetite. I had small fish & chips and a can of pop for well under £3, I challenge anyone to beat that price.... More
