We hadn’t been here for years and thought we would go for Sunday lunch. It was very busy and seemed to be full of walkers. We hadn’t booked, but spotted a table and quickly sat down. The menu was full of delicious sounding food. I had to order the Sunday roast and my hubby wanted the Pan fried Liver. The... More

13 of us had a lunch of sandwiches and chips booked in advance last week. We were very well served. The place was busy but our food was fresh and with plenty of choice and the service good. I was very impressed that they had provided gluten free bread for our coeliac friend. Nice atmosphere. We're very sorry to hear... More

I used to come here when I worked in Delamere, there would be three of us and a very good meal we would have, a little more expensive than other local pubs but well worth it. Always a good pint of beer.

We've been with friends here a number of times - if there are 6 of you the table has to be in the extension unfortunately - the bar area is much cosier and attractive but only has tables for 4 people. The 5 tables were full in the extension last evening and the noise was deafening and made normal conversation... More

As usual a fabulous meal at The Boot. Never fails to provide a lovely welcome. Somehow its better in the autumn/winter with the fire blazing. A great pub for pre and post hike food but also favourite pub to drive out of Chester for. Keep it up!

Met up with 3 other people to have a girlie get together one lunch time. Food was excellent even though we all had snacks, ie Jacket Potatoes with various fillings, plus I had a starter of Mussels with Crusty Bloomer bread as an alternative. Also we decided to share 2 desserts between the four of us, as we just wanted... More

We have been to the Boot many times over the years. Mike used to be the owner - guess he's moved on. Service was poor from the start. Some had shrimps to start - some were hot - others cold. The Steak pie was SO salty - we told the waitress of the poor food offering - she said she... More

Three friends and I had a meal on 4th September and we found the food to be excellent, especially the home made pate, the fish pie and the apple and raspberry crumble. The four of us thought the quality of the food to be outstanding. This coupled with excellent service from very friendly young staff made the evening most enjoyable.... More
