This is not a bridge too far !

Very comfortable in a slightly dated way. Excellent choice from A la Carte menu plus good mid week offers which includes choices from 3 course menu plus a bottle of wine at a cost of £40 for two people. This rises to £47 on a Friday night. Very nice atmosphere, usually busy so you should book in... read more

I went here for lunch with my local WI. We had the 3 Course lunch menu (£17). There was plenty of choice to suit all tastes. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The food was well presented and perfectly cooked. The Fresh Fruit Salad needs a special mention! In so many eating establishments fruit salad comprises mainly apple. This... More

We chose the Bridge to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary. If you like to reminisce in the “old days” with a roast covered in thick gravy and silver service of vegetables this is for you. It’s not the best of food, somewhat dated in style and presentation. The restaurant and hotel still has its old features, but the decor throughout... More

We joined friends to celebrate their Wedding Anniversary. A delightful restaurant in a lovely village setting. Friendly and helpful staff, efficient service but not rushed. A great menu choice for lunch, portions were not skimped and the taste was delicious. If I lived nearby this would become a regular haunt.

I was due to have afternoon tea with friends and called the restaurant to ask if they could provide soya milk. After being transferred 3 times I finally spoke to someone who said they could 'pop to the supermarket, but could not guarantee it would be there on time'. I find it hard to believe that with so many people... More

This was like going back in time .old fashioned dining room with great features , soft music coming from the piano player and singer in the corner Went here with a few friends. We have the set menu for £36 each , 3 courses with coffee. Food was excellent. Nice to go somewhere with proper English food. Really good choices... More

We visited the Bridge a couple of time in the summer and had wonderful teas outside. As we had family to stay we decided to book for dinner. I was told a glass of "bubbly" would be provided with canapes on arrival. We arrived but no "bubbly" nor canapes. The meal was frankly awful. Such a great disappointment after such... More

This was the second time we have been here. There was a group of us and we were attracted by the 3,2,1 deal. Three courses, for two people and a bottle of wine, £35 during the week and £45 on Fridays. Four of us went for the deal, whilst two went for the a la carte menu, which in truth... More

We keep coming back to this restaurant. Really. We keep coming back. It is good standards based dining with a Maitre D who sees that things are done properly but without pomposity and an owner who takes an interest in his clients. Complain? No need. anything wrong is remedied before you can think of complaining!
