Went at weekend. Drove 25 miles and was certainly worth the journey. Lamb Handi one of the best curies I've had in over 30 yrs of eating Indian. Service and choice also very good.
My wife and I are not what you describe as `Foodies`, but certainly enjoy eating out and know a good restaurant when we see one. I would describe The Saffron Room as a Restaurant which serves Indian food, rather the n an `Indian Restaurant. The service is 2nd to none and the waiters are extremely polite, well mannered, informative, accommodating... More
Having had another excellent meal with the family last night I was surprised by the volume of mixed reviews on this restaurant. Living in Prestbury village I have visited this place at least a couple of dozen times over the last two years in party sizes from 2 to 12. We have always had an enjoyable time with great food... I've seldom read so many differing reviews of one restaurant. Maybe it's a reflection of the high culinary expectations of the people of Prestbury. There was only one way to find out !! So on a Thursday evening in we ventured to The Saffron Rooms. The venue is nice with a modern feel and the meet and greet was pleasant... More
BEWARE: I appreciate this is not a steak house but on ordering the 8oz Fillet steak I got 4oz ( at best ) of tough chewy over-cooked meat. No way fillet My complaint was greeted with innocence, " I'll tell the chef" Its a scam

We thought it very old fashioned to find a menu with 'western' dishes offered - surely Prestbury's more... More
3 of us had an evening meal here and were thrilled with the quality of the food. Presentation was excellent, portions actually more than we could eat (although we made the usual mistake of having too many popodoms to begin with!). Atmosphere was good and service was OK. One of the nicest Indian meals we've had in a long time.
My wife and I agreed this food was bad and should be binned. We also agree that we should always form an opinion after the second visit, not this place. We couldn't possibly attempt to stomach this food again. Very disappointing.
My family from USA are in town so we decided to bring them to the best restaurant in Prestbury and we had the best meal yet. Despite ordering too much food, we managed to polish off most of it, absolutely delicious! We asked the restaurant to bring us a starter selection to share among us all, this was the highlight...
