Stayed in Premier Inn next door and ate here. This is a real pub with excllent food and service. Obvioulsy popular with loacals also. Atmosphere was good with lots of chat. NO music or TV's blaring out! Had a great meal with very attentive service. Prices were also excellent. Sampled the real ale and it was perfect. Will definetly go... More

Whilst travelling through Cheshire a few days ago, in a party of four, I happened to come across the Blue Cap. What a find! We all chose different things from the menu and we were absolutely delighted with the quality and quantity of food that we received. Meats were tender, vegetables were top quality and the dishes were hot, served... More

Had a good meal, local real ales were excellent, only criticism was that I had to ask for extra custard as there was only half a small jug initially, however this was quickly remedied the plum crumble it accompanied was delicious

The menu is quite varied, with specials. They also have a good choice of wines and beers. Nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. Advise booking a table at weekends, it can get very busy.

Food was nice, service was very good, décor a little tired looking. We ate 3 different dishes, all were cooked nicely although a little slow in coming. Overall I could only rate as average.

I Usually go for the safe option of Burger or Steak, but decided to go for the Duck pie. Too much pastry not my cup of tea! I have been many times before, and everything else enjoyed. Service is good and our waitress, Emily May's smile and demeanor was worth the visit.

Excellent Sunday lunch, food and service was first class. The Sunday best menu is certainly recommended!

What promised to be a delightful visit, turned into an average experience. On arrival the please was empty, but it still took five minutes to be seated. My chair was broken and when I advised the staff, they joked they knew about it. It was always the case with the table we had been allocated. We were not offered another... More

The staff were exceptionally helpful from the moment I rang to book a table. They catered for all our disabilities and intolerances with a smile and no tutting which I have often experienced. There were five of us and it was a family reunion so we were seated for a long time with no hassle to hurry with orders etc despite it... I have visited here on a number of occasions with both my friend and young children, my parents and now my partner, and each and every time it has been perfect! On my visit this evening I had the scallops (black pudding substituted with bacon as per my preference) and the hake and chorizo special, both were delicious. My partner... More
