After reading some reviews I was a little apprehensive when arriving for Sunday Lunch with my husband and friend. It turned out to be one of the nicest lunches we've had. We were all impressed by not only the quality of the food but the service too. It was our first visit but it won't be our last.

We visited for my mum's 81's birthday and although the food was quite good (apart from frozen chips which were I must say better than the average frozen chip) we all commented on the waiter appearing unapproachable and grumpy. We were quite scared of asking him questions about the menu! There were comments about him getting out of the wrong... More

Visited the moorings for family lunch following returning to Anderton marina from holiday. What an odd place, not sure if it's a cafe, restaurant, bistro? The menu goes from basic cafe food to fine dining? The decor again is between a cafe and restaurant. Must say there needs an injection of atmosphere that is not being created by the manager/owner.The food was... More

I recently enjoyed a midweek lunch here with friends. There was a range of food on offer including a set price lunch for £10.75 as well as a snack menu. Living less than 2 miles away from this restaurant it has been a regular destination for many years, especially for morning coffee/afternoon tea. Jim and Jackie have never disappointed us... More

We had two lunches here recently, using the outside seating area as we had a small dog with us. On our first visit we had hot sandwiches, which were very nice indeed. We made a point of coming back for a second meal the next day, again in the garden overlooking the marina. This time we opted for a two... More

Have been here with friends several times. The best thing is the friendly service. Food average but nicely presented. Surroundings dated.

Again, no complaints. The food is freshly prepared, beautifully presented, the service quiet and friendly. Having discovered this restaurant only recently, we keep returning and are never disappointed. Yes, it's quiet but that's the beauty of it. Well recommended.

Took my mum here on mothers day, it was very busy but I am not surprised. The quality of food was great and at an exceptionally reasonable price. Mum had the traditional roast beef with all the trimmings and I had cod (for a change) it was lovely. Even though the staff were run off their feet, nothing was too... More

Having visited the moorings after reading the great reviews I'm left wondering what went wrong or was I at the wrong place..great atmosphere ? There's more on the moon..awful swing music (personal taste I know) ..it looked like a twee tee room with garden chairs and for such a popular place ,it was empty on a Friday nite ? My... More

The Moorings enjoys a good reputation for well prepared home cooking. The Sunday luncheon menu is simple & unpretentious, portions are plentiful & served with a smile. Situated at the Anderton Marina there's lots of narrow boats moored or coming & going outside. It is the perfect place for all the family.
