Sunday visit

I've become rather fond of this place. We invited friends to join us. Atmosphere spit on - laid back, comfortable and friendly. Service was excellent. Garlic bread as good as it gets. Bruschetta was best we have had - I hope it's the same as this next time. It was truly delicious. Lots of thick... read more

We visited 1 January on the way back to Liverpool after visiting garden centre locally. The pub was lovely and warm, cosy on a cold winter afternoon. The service from the staff welcoming, friendly and helpful. The menu choice is perfect - enough variety without running to pages and pages. We ordered homemade soup of the day which arrived with... Enjoyed the sprouts! Rest of the food was ok, disappointing really as nothing special. Service was mostly good. Atmosphere was ok.

Visited before and have been pleased with both Food and Bar options. However on this occasion the food was not up to usual standard, The starter was extremely small portion, For Mains I had the steak Pie which was served with soggy pastry and lacked filling - the other meal was Fish and chips - sadly the fish was not... Tried this pub for the first time on Saturday 14th November. The food was superb, if a little pricey. The staff are pleasant and we received a free port with our cheese board. Would recommend you try this place if you are looking for a nice meal.

We went here with friends after reserving a table and asking for a quiet spot. The restaurant and pub are pleasant. Our only complaint with the dinning room was the fact that on the night we went there was a group of about 16 very noisy cackling, shrieking and giggling loud girls. Our table was adjacent theirs and couldn't have... More

I ordered the tuna steak with samphire and rice, and the combination did not work at all. I specified I wanted the tuna seared and it came well done. The rice was like a desert. Maybe the other meals are better but definitely not the fish! My partner had seabass and that was equally unsatisfactory! I won't be eating here... More

Thank you for your review. I am really sorry but we do not recognise the dish you are refering too. We have a very highly trained and skilled chef and the combination of tuna and rice with the differing flavours and textures is not a dish we would recommend or offer on the menu unless specifically requested by yourself. Out looking for a different place to eat.....turned up a leafy lane and arrived at the Red Lion. There were very few customers in when we arrived as we were quite early, we had the pick of tables. Staff greeted us when we entered and were very pleasant.....the place is nicely decorated and in lovely village position. There was waitress... More
