This is our local pub and we have been really pleased to see new management take over. We have visited three times over the last few weeks, twice as a couple and once with our kids. On each of our visits the food has been outstanding- I would highly recommend the roast beef, and my husband enjoyed the fish and... More

The lovely village pub is under new management and wow the food is fantastic. Cheif Gert really knows his stuff. We had Sunday lunch fantastic value for money. Very genorous portions and the offer of more vug if you wanted. All round a great meal. By chance we called in for a drink last night Saturday 9th August and Kevin... More

Lovely lunch time menu including many pub favourites. We had the special menu, 2 courses for £9.95. Excellent food_ well presented and home made pastry!

Food was served quickly, hot, and real chips. We had the gammon which was delicious, onion rings were crispy, food was just divine!

Myself, partner and another couple had an evening meal and drinks here on a friday night. As I'd not been for years i wasnt so sure when my friend suggested going here, for a meal aswell as drinks. With living in the villlage I always enjoy a stroll down to our local for a couple of drinks and a bite to eat. Staff are always friendly and efficient and can never do enough to make our experience 5* every time. Food is good quality and value. One of our favourite choices tends to be the 'Early Bird' offer... More

I can assure you that we are not in decline and we always offer 3 ales and always will. In fact we get a lot of complements with our ales. Yet again it takes that one customer to comment.

Unfortunately the Lion doesn't seem to attract enough clientele to support a choice of Ales at the bar. It is becoming increasingly rare to find more than one Ale being offered and even this can be of questionable quality. It would appear to be a pub in decline which is sad but it clearly needs an injection of 'enthusiastic management'... More
