A chance find

We were visiting Nantwich and had the family to feed for a late lunch, mid week and almost walked past this little place. The over done 'voted top 10 tea rooms in the country' almost put us off and leaves you with the thoughts 'it's going to be over priced' and 'it had better be good' The decor... read more

This restaurant was visited today after reading trip advisor reviews! but it is hard to express my disappointment and anger at the attitude of a member of the waiting-on staff. My husband and I sat down at a table and the waitress brought two menus! I asked if they served Gluten free items and was immediately told so aggressively that... More

Called in for a mid morning breakfast. Fantastic. Generous portions. Beautifully cooked. Nice and hot. Eggs perfect. Looked and tasted like locally sourced ingredients. Even the bread for the toast was nice and seemed not just from a plastic bag. Great fresh hot coffee.

For those of you who are familiar with the area of Nantwich, you will know that there are enough coffee shops to go to a different one once a week for a year and still have somewhere new to try. However, this Sunday morning we decided to visit Ginger and Pickles as people are always raving about it and whenever... More

Great home cooked breakfast, wide menu choice with fine tea selection (and coffees etc). Cafe is quite compacts and can soon become crowded, but well worth a visit.

We had sandwiches, a mix of toasties and 'normal'. Wait staff were friendly, but we were served by three different people which meant that the wrong food was given to people (party of 5). Prices were on the high side. When I say that what I mean is that if you were in London paying that much for a sandwich... More

Overpriced, uninspiring food served in a very hot cramped environment. We paid £14.95 a head for an afternoon tea which at best was edible, the sandwiches were dry as was the tasteless cake and the scone had a very saccharine taste to it, the tea was a perfumed variety which I don't like but was given no choice in therefore I... Amazing cakes, proper tea in generous teapots, quirky China and decor, very friendly service and welcoming to the children. We didn't eat lunch but wished we had. Made up for a disappointing lunch earlier at a different venue.

Tucked away down a side street in the lovely town of Nantwich is Ginger and Pickles. Other family members have eaten here and "raved aboiut it," so on a recent Sunday we called in for brunch complete with our 18 month old granddaughter. A notice at the entrance advises that prams/buggies etc. are not allowed in due to space constraints... More

Since first being introduced to Ginger & Pickles over a year ago, we have been several times. The food, especially the homemade cakes are delicious. I am surprised to read some less positive reviews about customer service and have always found the staff very friendly there, including ' bobbed hair lady' as mentioned. I can only review as I find... More
