Impromptu Sunday roast.

Ange and Kev had an evening Sunday roast here 31.8.15, Mandy looked after us during the evening and she got everything just spot on. The Sunday roasts have always been good here but I must say that they have actually improved from my last one. Probably about the best that we have had out and that's... read more

Far too expensive. Good food and good service. Nice friendly staff although a little short staffed. Shame about the Manager.

Jennifer, What day did you come in? In what way was it a shame about the Manager? More

Meals are nice if a little pricey, the Inn itself is beautiful with lovely beer gardens, but and it's a big but, the soft drinks are incredibly expensive. Seeing that most of the customers get there by car it left a bad taste in the mouth. It's rare these days that pubs rip off nominated drivers but it's standard practice... More

Disappointing. We were seated in a small room close to the bar - quite noisy. We ordered the beef choice for lunch but there was a long wait until we were served. There was plenty of beef which was tasty but we all remarked that it was very tough. There was one small piece of cauliflower and a slice of... More

Found this lovely place on the way home from Chester and what a lovely little gem it is. We were made to feel very welcome and the service was excellent. It is very good simple home cooked food. The chocolate fudge brownie is divine. Well worth stopping off for.

This is a beautiful building in a nice location. The food is simple but home made, with good ingredients, some good cask beers and an ok wine list.

Three of us went to the thatch this afternoon (Sunday). We loved it. Two of us had roasts (one pork, one beef). In all honestly I can't remember having a better roast dinner (outside home!!) anywhere. Flavoursome meat, perfectly cooked vegetables, delicious and crispy roasties and mash as well!! Just the right amount of gravy too. I had the pork... More

Never been to the Thatch before, but a friend recommended it and we were glad they did. Lovely old pub, which was full, but the service was was friendly and quick, and food was fantastic. Special mention to the sticky toffee pudding which was the best I have ever eaten, and I have eaten a few over the years!! Oh,... More
