In order to celebrate a bit of a special occasion we booked a table for Afternoon Tea at this 4 star country house whose mission statement is to create a "positive and memorable experience". It was certainly memorable! I don't think either of us will forget the pint of beer dumped on the wine, drink stained tablecloth on the table... More

The food was well cooked and presented and delicious. We ate at the hotel both nights and could not fault it.

We had a very relaxing Sunday lunch here. Set meal was good and was reasonable including coffee. I had beetroot and blue cheese risotto as a starter followed by salmon. Everything was well cooked. Setting was very nice and the grounds are beautiful. The afternoon tea that was being served to others as we walked out looked beautiful and I... More

we had a very pleasant afternoon in the restaurant for a Birthday treat. Although my preference would have been to have my Beef a bit pinker the whole experience was very good. The food was good and very well presented, the service very friendly and it was nice not to be rushed through a meal in such a lovely location

The one time haunt of the Beckham's now serves pub grub as haute cuisine. We had Sunday lunch here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. My wife's beef was like road kill, most of it went back. I had the salmon which was good but was served with a tablespoon of leeks and about 4 baby potatoes. The waiting staff are... More

Booked The Rookery as a surprise for my mum in law as we were staying locally. Not quite as expected, but we had a lovely table in the main window with a lovely view of the fountain. We were served by Mandy who was very efficient. The grounds were beautiful and well manicured with a new spa complex at the... More

I booked on the internet to take my friend for afternoon tea for her birthday. I put on the request that it was her birthday and that our dietary requirements were "no fish". We arrived at the hotel to be greeted by someone who asked why we were there. I told him, he asked us to go to Reception. In... More

We'd heard a lot about the Rookery and, as we were in the area decided to stop off for a sandwich. There's obviously some remodelling going on, but there was quite a trek around the back of the various mismatched buildings from the car park to the eating area. We had sandwiches on the terrace - perfectly adequate but not... More

Visited Rookery Hall for afternoon tea as a birthday treat. From arrival the staff were friendly and welcoming and our waitresses were lovely. The grounds of the hotel are gorgeous, and we enjoyed spending some time in them. Afternoon tea was lovely, and the "Happy Birthday" on the plate of mini cakes was a lovely touch. As so local not...
