Sunday lunch with Family

Thought we would try this place for a change. Rang prior to arrival and booked a table. No problems. We had three young children with us and they were made welcome. Children's menu was £4.95 and better than average fare. We settled for the Sunday Roast deal. Two choices of meat with all the... read more

Went here for my sons birthday meal. I had a special of the board and my husband had sirloin! Both my boys had burgers! Overall the food was excellent and we left none! Steak expensive though so watch the prices.

Walked with 2 Jack Russells along the canal. Look at a menu to see what food to order..burst out laughing..it was a dog's menu! Got food and bowl of water for them and of course human food too. Can't complain anything as the food was out of the world for that best price. Worth to visit and definitely coming again... More

Been here a few times but gradually getting less cared for / more dirty per visit. The floor often sticky and leaning on a table or bar has 2 visits in a row stained a good shirt! Needs a glass collector / cleaner on hand in the Winter like they do on busy Summer days...Will try 1 last time

Lovely homely pub by canal where you can have several superb shared starters for a quick lunch followed by very tasty coffee. If preferred two mains at low prices, especially the mouth watering omelettes and a few chips. Freshly cooked.

A friend suggested we try this pub as he had passed by on a walk. It was very good, the food was served to the 4 of us at the same time by two pleasant waitresses and was of good quality. The location on the canal makes it a must in the summer but was still good on a wet... More

Food very plentiful and lovely surroundings as it is right on the canal so is ideal for people on boats. There is a good choice of food and there are also daily specials. The baguettes are large but one gripe is they come without margarine. I appreciate some people do not eat margarine or butter but some in a dish... More

Visited here for the first time a couple of nights ago with a large group. The food was nice and we were all served at the same time .... so no-one finishing before someone else had started (as happens elsewhere). Prices are reasonable, food quality was good and the staff were friendly. The atmosphere depends of course on the people... More

Food was lovely. Unfortunately the restaurant was cold they had a log burner but it wasn't enough to heat the whole room and the heating didn't seem to be working. They had a crumble on the dessert menu so we asked what type, the lady came back and said they didn't have crumble only strudel, which one of the party... More
