a long wait

visit here occasionally and the pub is part of the Fayre and Square group, we usually go in off peak yet despite that, it seems to take forever waiting to get served, and then waiting for food to arrive, we have noticed at times that the tables are sticky due to the way they have been wiped, once... read more

Depends what Chef you have on the day. Prices are pretty affordable. The choc fudge cake is amazing and the staff are lovely.

Been coming since we moved to the area recently. Great value food and always friendly service. What's not to like? Service always quick and prompt, with a large spacious car park.

Hi, I went this place for a drive out and dine with the inlaws, when got there woman behind the bar was very feisty, I asked what ipa the beer was only for her to give some attitude and said it's just ipa, We tried to book a table only too be told it's very busy and can only get... More

Been a number of times before and always found the food acceptable and good value. Service is very good esepcially from a few key players. The system has changed again and there isn't any table service, orders are taken at the bar. The only other change is the menu which has had a few additions that look appealing.

This is a value for money pub. Meals two for £10. The staff were good, the food was great, wide choice on menu better than you expect for the price. The bar and surrounding areas were clean n tidy really couldn't find any faults at all

Well where to start... My partners chicken was sent back because it was cold only to be returned heated up by a microwave and still looking questionable. I had a burger and within that burger there was a black curly hair! Actually in the meat itself! I had never felt like I'd wanted to vomit so much in my life!... More

Cannot write a review on the food but we were still left disappointed as we where staying at a local hotel, walked across to gave food and because there was lack of custom they shut the kitchen so we could not eat. Didn't even offer us chips. Told us another place to eat was 10mins walk and did cheap meals on... More

There must be a new Spirit Group policy now in force as you no longer need to order your meal at the bar and a waiter asks for your order at the table. The last time that we used the Waggon and Horses was when we were half way along a 120 mile journey that needed a visit making in... More
