Good Food Very Slow Service

This is a really nice pub. Comfortable and relaxing with good food. However, what lets it down is the time you have to wait to order food or drink and to pay your bill. There is just not enough front facing staff at the bar. You always end up in a long line of customers. It is not unusually... read more

I have no complaint about the staff who were there, but there was nowhere near enough of them. Had booked a table for 1.30 . Arrived on time and had to wait a few minutes for anyone to appear There was one member of staff taking orders for drinks and food so there were lengthy queues (I felt sorry for... More

Came here with 3 children and the other half on a Sunday afternoon. Car park was quite full and most tables were occupied or reserved but we still managed to get seated. Unfortunately a lot of the menu had sold out and even though that was a little frustrating, I can understand why as there were a lot of customers... More

This was a great find after going online to find places to eat near near the Warner Leisure Alverston Hall Hotel, we noted having missed the turn for Alverston, the Rising Sun Pub. So instead of going to the place we'd chosen due to it looking closed and deserted we drove back to the Rising Sun. We couldn't have chosen... More

We visited on Sunday for lunch at 2.30. We made sure we booked for the five of us as we've tried to visit before but there was no where to sit inside. The staff were friendly and there was a good atmosphere. There's loads of food to choose from including a value menu from £4.99 for mains. I had the... More

Great stop off for tea on the way home !! We have eaten here before on several occasions when we have been in the area. A really good menu at reasonable prices, great staff and a good selection of drinks Would definitely recommend this pub !!

I can understand why this pub is popular. The food is generally very good and the establishment prides itself on the range of real ales it has on offer. In addition the staff are always helpful and from my experience work really hard to ensure customer satisfaction. It's just a great shame that the brewery (Green King) or the pub... More
