Great Value.

Visited The Rising Sun for an early evening meal. There were plenty of people already eating including families with young children so it is obviously a popular venue. Having made our choice from the menu and placed the order at the bar, we had a short wait until our food arrived. The wait... read more

Called in for lunch and ordered a feta, red onion and roasted tomato bloomer sandwich. Absolutely gorgeous! It was served with a homemade coleslaw, smokey tomato relish and a salad garnish with a dressing (honey and mustard?) This was a huge plate of food, not helped by my husband ordering a serving of chips for us to share. I really... More

I live near the rising sun so it is my local. It is an attractive building and inside the decor is very good. The food is excellent and good value with plenty of tables and the staff are efficient and attentive.

A large gastro pub which manages to create a good atmosphere by dividing it into areas. Good is good quality but typical pub food nothing very special.

First the good points! Food is generally very good and the establishment excels itself with the real ales it has on offer. Staff are really helpful too. Now the bad points! Car park is awful; full of potholes, which soon fill with rainwater. In season the mature apple trees on the car park shed their fruit onto cars parked below... More

We were staying in a hotel nearby and we're looking for somewhere with good food reviews but with reasonable prices and this is what we found at the Rising Sun. A simple enough menu pretty standard choice of meals. This can be a good thing as it means what they do they do right and boy they get it right.... More

Visited the pub yesterday around 3pm. Had a lovely meal. The ultimate burger was amazing and the 3 course was excellent value for money as well as tastey. Staff were brilliant and catered to our needs perfectly. Excellent dining experience, would recommend to all. Looking forward to our next visit in the near future.

Had a lovely lunch here. I had the mixed grill which was plentiful and very tasty. My partner had the lamb shank and it was perfectly cooked. Plenty of gluten free options as well and they will adapt parts of the menu to suit. I know it's a chain pub but certainly one of the better ones.
