Service with a smile!

Living not far away, I frequently eat with friends at the pub. The food served is great quality considering its reasonable price and the service provided always comes with a smile and manners. Would definitely recommend!

Visited Saturday to check out new menu. I had Sea Bass & whilst the fish was cooked perfectly the accompanying vegetables were very overcooked. The broccoli was mushy & bitter at £11.49 for this dish I felt it should have been of a higher standard. My husband enjoyed his lamb shank Also on Saturday night there were quite a few... More

I used to love The Rising Sun! But since it has changed hands, I have been so disappointed. The menu has changed and become much more basic and the standard of food has decreased massively over the past few months. The staff seem rushed off their feet, often forgetting items. It's such a shame as I used to love coming... More

Food is good but very small portions - had to go to the chippy after! Service a bit slow but pleasant waiters - barman a bit abrupt to other customers who were a bit slow ordering. Told the waiter we thought the portions were small for the cost and he said they get a lot of customers saying the same... More

It has been a long time since I had last been to the Rising Sun on Middlewich Road, probably when I was about 10 years old! So it was really nice to go there and see if the place had changed at all and see what the food was like! I went with my mum on a Wednesday evening. I... More

Come here often and enjoy the food very much. Today's visit was no different and the meal was quickly served and lovely. The service can sometimes be a little slow at busy periods but the staff are always friendly and helpful. My only gripe: today we sat below a patch of what I think was damp on the ceiling that... Lovely evening spent with friends. The food we chose was nice but unfortunately not as described on the menu when we asked why? we were told " chef has changed it because it wasn't selling" we asked if it was possible to get the dish how it was described but told "no" we did ask why weren't told upon ordering... Fantastic food today, warm atmosphere and friendly staff. First time dining here today and was one of the best meals I have had in the past few months. I can only comment on the Roast Lamb Dinner and Fish and Chips which were both perfect and I look forward to returning to try the rest of the menu. The mash... More

Yet again food, service was excellent, a few guest beers where on, which where very good, plenty of families, were there, all seemed to be enjoying themselves,... More

Called in for a meal and a few drinks. Superb beers on draught, great menu with some nice twists on the "usual" type of pub dishes. Wish it was my local!
