Service and food certainly varies, however I'm not sure whether this is dependant on the size of your party or the member of staff. It's nice to be able to have a catch up with friends in a mutually local location however this is not a place I would 'rave' about. Food does seem to be 'plonked' together, but on... More

As a regular customer at the Rising Sun (at least 3x per month for food) I am extremely disappointed in my recent visit - Sat 18th July. We phoned at 7.15 to ask to book a table for 7.45 to be told that they no longer take bookings. We also asked if there was a delay on food as this... More

Good basic pub food, served hot and fresh from kitchen, Fish and Chips always excellent, hubby had burger and chips, again very tasty. It's not gourmet cooking but then its not gourmet prices. Service, good, staff friendly and welcoming.

Great new management and for someone who has been going in there for years, I have seen a vast improvement in both the staff and the premises. Good range of beers and food, dog friendly and a warm and personal welcome. Keep up the good work Darren, Jen and Staff!!

Called in for a quick snack at lunch time, about 1.15 pm.. The inn was not full but we were told that there would be up to a 1 hour wait for a soup and a roll. Needless to say : we just had our drink and left.

We visited on the 4th of July as a family of six. we all choose different meals and enjoyed them. Yes the menu has changed, there is less choice but I think it is so they can cook the food from fresh. We also had dessert which we can recommend the chocolate brownie, it was soft, warm and rich, absolutely... More

We visited here last night, I've not really been much since the change of hands, sat outside and the table tipped up spilling our drinks, so we moved tables, there was chips etc under the second table that we sat at but it is outside so we didn't complain, don't think the menu is quite as good, we did chat... Just finished a lovely meal.. In fact never been disappointed here at all. Staff are always pleasant and the food is always presentable, tasty & hot.. Really would recommend it.. The sirloin sizzler was beautifully done as was the traditional fish & chips. Excellent value..
