This restaurant has now closed down, so I won't add my intended favourable review from my last visit, but rather ill make other comment. I've always found the food excellent here, but I find it a real shame St Neots has lost an 'alternative' to the normal run of the mill Bangladashi restaurants. In the St Neots town we now... More

We ordered a meal at 1.30pm to be collected at 8 pm as we were having friends round for a meal. My husband went to collect it at 8 and was told he would have to wait 45 mins. So we decided to ring the akbar and our meal was ready in 25 mins. This is not the first time... More

The takeaway we had was absolutely hideous. I had the house speciality chicken malabar, which resembled puréed baby food and didn't taste of much else. The chicken tikka masala was crimson red and sickly sweet. I can only assume that they are buying mass produced cheap wholesale curry sauces. We alway use the Nawab but due to the low 'scores... We ordered a taka-a-way from here on a Saturday night. We were infomed that it would take an hour. Over an over later we rang and were told that our meal would be at least another 30 minutes. By this time my friends and I were all starving, I rang again to complain. Eventually our food arrived, we could not... More

Went on a recommendation. Will be back. The Dosai (crispy pancake = must have) had a main course for one as a joint starter. Chicken Malabar good, but the thing here is the curries are cooked differently from other curry houses (I've been eating them for 40 years). Via the diffence.

The idea of a Keralan restaurant is really appealing and the food was pretty good, even though I got a chicken rather than king prawn dish I ordered. The service however was atrocious, with a complete lack of urgency attention to customers and no-one seemingly marshalling the inept (admittedly inexperienced) waitresses. We waited a long time for everything except the... More

This is the first Indian food I have had in the UK, but it has been the best meal I have eaten all year. Coffee was strong, but served with sugar and cream. The Lamb Bhuna was delicious (medium spicy, definitely to be eaten with rice), one of the best Indian dishes I have had anywhere (USA, Singapore, or previous... More

The food here was fine - nothing extraordinary, but a decent tasty meal. The ambiance was somewhat lacking - the restaurant has extremely harsh downlighters and it was almost empty on a Friday night. Biggest surprise came at the end of the night when we got the bill, which was over £90 for 4 of us. Food was itemised on... More

Take away ordered, and hoping for a superb traditional (un-Westernised) meal showing off excellence and specialist cuisine from this entrancingly named, upcycled high street restaurant. The Kerala fried fish dish appeared to have been ironed, several times, inside a sock used to trample souls at the Burning Man festival in Utah. The beetroot dish was unsubtly coloured and flavoured by... More
