Nice atmosphere

Warm welcome, good food and it was lovely to sit at the fireplace with a good beer (picture enclosed). Food prices are the only reservation.

We were visiting Waddesdon Manor during the day and wanted to find some dinner close by before a concert in the evening. Searching on the internet we found the Long Dog.......... so thought we would give a it a shot. Brilliant choice. Loved the quirky, warm atmosphere........... something a bit different. Very friendly staff, interesting food with a twist, good... More

Something a bit different and all together unexpected for a country village pub. Lovely atmosphere and great food. Just don't think you're going to get a surf and turf here...

Had dinner here this evening. Food was lush (definitely recommend the brown shrimp tortilla and baby squid), waiting staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. Can't wait to come again

We were quite surprised by the stripped back look and the tatty menus although the wine list was in perfect condition. Some interesting tapas but surprised that tortilla was served cold. Good Long Crendon XT and nice to see 50cl Wines. Biggest issue is that if you look into the kitchen from the restaurant you want to see cleanliness and... More

Ate here on 4th April. Looking for a place to eat after the Thomas the Tank engine day at Quainton and found the Long Dog first time of eating in a tapas restaurant and really enjoyed it. Wide choice of delicious dishes especially the ham hock and egg, Morrocan lamb and posted salmon. Made a nice change from standard fare.Very... More

Beer is nice and cold. Some tapas dishes are nice. Prawns with garlic and pepper with only 3 prawns cost over £8 .Portion is small and minimum price is over £5 per tapas. Chicken liver is tasty but not sure whether it is cooked properly as chicken liver is still pink inside. Dessert is nice. Staff is friendly. We dined... More

We had driven by before and this time we decided we should stop for a quick unplanned lunch. The young guy behind the bar was brilliant and explained the chef had been taken ill so there was a limited menu. There was still a good choice and we selected 3 small plates. Nice Caesar salad, Serrano ham and manchego, but... More
