Was recommended to visit

We were visiting a company at Wescott Venture Park when we asked where to have lunch. The Long Dog was top of the list and we agree it was well worth visiting. Not many other visitors came during a visit, but the food was more than sufficient and my husband enjoyed the unusual cola which came... read more

I took a gamble by taking family here for "Tapas" but was pleasantly surprised with the spin the restaurant had put on it. It's more like a mix of Spanish and British small plate food - you had fish, meat, cheese and vegetables on offer and for those who are looking for something bigger, they offered steak and burgers too.... Upon recommendation of a friend we decided to give this a try. To be quite frank there was not much of a choice on the menu. I decided to have the Rib Eye Steak which was £16. To my amazement this did not come with any vegetables or salad, these had to be ordered separately. I ordered the chips for... More

In a part of England which enjoys some excellent dining establishments, the Long Dog fell well short of the standard its competitors set. Our evening meal just went from bad to worse, and we couldn't wait to make our exit. The kitchen is visible from the dining area, from where we could see a young woman working in the kitchen... They offer a sort of "tapas". International, mainly spanish food. And I loved it. Baby squids, gambas al ajillo, poor's man potatoes, ham (not very good honestly) and manchego cheese. Kids ate by £1 each!!! Nice place. Warm and friendly. And a lovely waitress!!!

This is a great looking pub inside and the tables are not too close together. The staff are very good and have created a friendly atmosphere. The tapas was all really tasty and well presented but, the dishes were far too spaced out. I understand the concept of tapas but the first dish came ten minutes before the next, it... More

And to be fair, I suppose they're a pub, not a restaurant but they were woefully understaffed when we went recently and it meant we waited ages (over 15 minutes) for our plates to be cleared. It's nice service though, when it comes! The food was good: we had tapas plates of chorizo; pork belly; green bean salad; quail and... More

We were visiting Waddesdon Manor during the day and wanted to find some dinner close by before a concert in the evening. Searching on the internet we found the Long Dog.......... so thought we would give a it a shot. Brilliant choice. Loved the quirky, warm atmosphere........... something a bit different. Very friendly staff, interesting food with a twist, good... More

Something a bit different and all together unexpected for a country village pub. Lovely atmosphere and great food. Just don't think you're going to get a surf and turf here...

Had dinner here this evening. Food was lush (definitely recommend the brown shrimp tortilla and baby squid), waiting staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. Can't wait to come again
