Super Sunday Lunch

We were 3 ladies booked in for Sunday lunch, it was my first visit to this pub. The restaurant is light and airy, the staff are very helpful and friendly and the menu is very varied. I chose the french onion soup, followed by the rib of beef and the sticky toffee pudding - all were excellent... read more

If you are looking for something other than the usual pub food the Apple Tree delivers. At each visit I have found the place to be pleasant, the menu inventive and the whole experience enjoyable. Despite the restaurant is on the very busy A40, once inside its charming atmosphere takes you a world away from the traffic.

Went with my daughters for dinner. Had a lovely meal . The Duck salad was excellent and the girls really enjoyed the steak. All the meals I have had here have been great. The staff have always been friendly and helpful although can get very busy on the weekend. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Would definitely continue visiting.

We are regulars living close to The Apple Tree. Food quality has seen highs and lows peer the years and until a fewonths ago it really was poor. Management and head chef have been replaced however and the place has certainly looked up a lot. Would have given a bit higher score of was just a little bit fairer on... More

Poor service, not friendly staff. I will not come again. I did not eat food but I will never find out now. Such a shame as I was recommended this place by a friend.

It is always a great shame when a pub you have been loyal to goes bad. We have been regular patrons of the Apple tree over the years and when we visited for dinner last night our expectations were as always...wonderful food, ambiance and service; unfortunately we received none of these. Staff were totally overwhelmed and 4 wait staff on... More

Visited this establishment today with the missus as a break away from London. Service was very good, gentlemen serving behind the bar had good chat and was particularly friendly, the lady who served us our meal was equally pleasant. I went for the pork belly with scallops and the missus did the fish and chips. Both meals were well prepared... More

Can't believe the previous reviews are for the same place... Went out to lunch here today and thought the food was delicious - and the fixed price menu was great value. Harry our waiter was also very friendly & very attentive. I loved my Brie, sticky chicken & would highly recommend the damson and apple crumble. Would definitely recommend here... More

We booked lunch for a large party - 25 - and were told that it wasn't necessary to pre-order. This was a great mistake! The restaurant was absolutely full as in additional to tables of 2 and 4 another pre booked party arrived but instead of the 6 expected there were 14 of them. The staff were totally overwhelmed and... More

Just had lunch with a friend, and as usual a very good experience. We had the set menu (2 dishes £12.50), good pub food, value for money. Thank you Harry for the excellent service!
