I have eaten here many times over the years, both with various combinations of family (from 5yrs to 90+ and friends. We even took the inlaws (or outlaws as I call them) to Christmas lunch here a couple of years ago.And this was another lunch with the Outlaws. We were seated straight away and the order for our drinks was... More

One of very few tables as our visit was early evening. We waited 40 mins for our food. When it arrived the chips were cold and obviously been under the hot lamp. We'd finished our burger before the fresh ones arrived. A long wait for our pudding. Two chocolate brownies- stodgy. Staff pre occupied and not readily available. Toilets in... More

I've eaten here many, many times, last time being this weekend and things here don't change!! On this occasion we had a nice meal with OK service, despite being one of a handful of tables we had to search out staff regularly. Food was nice, chocolate brownie was huge but stodgy and heavy. Last time we ate here prior to... More

This was an awful experience this evening. Empty restaurant. Lights so bright it felt like we were in McDonalds. I asked whether they could turn the lights down only to be told that "everyone asks that,". They still weren't turned down! 5 things on the menu not available and the people on the neighbouring tables were a little odd! Won't... More

Food normally good, calamari the especially; but the toilets are really really dusty, grimy and in serious need of TLC. If you consider that their food and wine prices are quite high, you would expect a better class of restaurant not just a pub, but best you pull on gloves before visiting their loo's😱

Recently we went there, service poor and it is usually hit and miss anyway with food, but I ordered a chateaubriand medium, it came over cooked and the mushroom was so hard they were like rocks, they changed it, again it came overcooked, As it was a family meal everyone was finished but two of us, We mentioned to manager... Wouldn't go back here again, the barman with a hair band was a right misery, no please or thank you, the drinks were expensive, seats were hard, didn't think much of the menu and even though I am on expenses I found the menu uninspiring and pricey

I visited the apple tree with my girlfriend for a spot of lunch , we shared the sticky platter which was as boring as it could be ! Plain chicken skewers , ribs with no sauce ! For the £18 it costs I would expect better portion and quality for a sharing platter ! Disappointing !

Having been to this restaurant several times before, last night's experience turned out to be a great disappointment. With many diners already eating, our order was taken at 7-50pm, but it was a good fifty minutes before any food arrived, except for a minuscule pot of chippies, brought as an appeaser. The food orders for the three of us were... More
