We booked lunch for a large party - 25 - and were told that it wasn't necessary to pre-order. This was a great mistake! The restaurant was absolutely full as in additional to tables of 2 and 4 another pre booked party arrived but instead of the 6 expected there were 14 of them. The staff were totally overwhelmed and... More

Just had lunch with a friend, and as usual a very good experience. We had the set menu (2 dishes £12.50), good pub food, value for money. Thank you Harry for the excellent service!

Four of us came here for lunch. We'd all been before and remembered it as being pretty good. The restaurant is very well presented and decorated but wooden chairs on stone floors are very noisy. Great menu with a choice of fixed price items from the main menu - two courses for £12.50 which is what my daughter and I... More

We decided to treat our friends for their last meal in the UK on Friday 2nd Jan. Having visited a number of times in the past, we thought we had made a good decision. We were called from the bar when our table was ready, so first impressions were quite good. We were then left for ages before our order... More

As you can see from my last review things have recently been hit or miss. The departure of any decent staff to The Saracens Head in Beaconsfield seems to have sealed the fate of this overpriced rip off joint with shocking service. Went there last night, arrived to a restaurant with only 3 tables seated. Ordered drinks. Waited. Waited. Waited.... More

We paid £150 for the two of us to have a four course Christmas Day meal however the waitress was terrible. No follow up to se if our food was ok, no asking if we wanted more drink. She got our orders wrong and also didn't know the menu. Didn't get the chocolate truffles with coffee even though they were... More

Don't got there - the food we had was of a very poor quality - boiled chicken with a mock Nandos sauce poured onto it. They ruined my special evening that I had set up with my siblings from Barnet, Kingston and Dallas, USA Whist to err is human to forgive is divine. I exchanged an e mail with the... More

Two of us went out for an unplanned dinner. We were welcomed and sat at our table and were offered drinks promptly. The food selection was good and the food was of excellent quality, and was presented well. Evidently, like us, a number of people had turned up without booking and the staff levels were struggling with the number of... More

The title says it all. What has happened? This used to be a reasonable mid priced restaurant. Won't go back unless management can explain what went wrong on evening if 4 th december.
