A Summer's Lunch

Conveniently located on the Beaconsfield / London Road this modernised but still charming gastropub is a welcome stopping place for lunch. The menu is quite eclectic and we have enjoyed various elements. In starters we enjoy the smoked salmon. In mains the pork belly though the scallop add on is... read more

Recently visited for a group dinner. It was a large group. Took 20 minutes to get drinks to start off which is too long. I have salmon to start which was a joke. Not even a full slice of salmon with a teaspoon of salad and a sauce. Literally two mouth fulls. No bread offered!! Main course I had the... More

Spent a really nice saturday evening at the Apple Tree not having been there since it was a harvester several years ago. What a transformation - great and varied menu, lovely ambience, delicious food and really helpful and happy staff. Will definitely be going back soon.

After being handed menus on arrival it was another thirty minutes before a waiter took our drinks order. After another lengthy wait we finally managed to summons a waiter to take our lunch order. Without going in too many details our main course was served in just over two hours after we arrived. This despite pointing out to staff that... More

Very impressive place and lovely looking menu, but sadly very disappointing service indeed. Arrived at 9.45pm, waited 10 minutes at the bar to be served a drink and given a menu (non on tables or anywhere accessible) and then sat abandoned at a table for a further 10 minutes before returning to the bar to order, only to be told... Decor nice, food overpriced and extremely small portions. Not a huge choice on menu. Service was ok but then restaurant was not exactly heaving. Will not be hurrying back.

A really nice meal in a good setting with good friendly staff, head and shoulders above the Ferry at Cookham which is owned by the same chain. The Battered Halloumi was a triumph , looking forward to my next trip there

I have known the Apple Tree since it was a local tea room. Not sure what has gone wrong. Although the staff are very pleasant it doesn't make up for the overpriced food. I don't mind paying for quality. However, the chicken was possibly the worst I have ever had. The service was extremely slow, apologies were made. This really... More

Went with a group of colleagues for a midweek evening meal. Ordered drinks and greeted by friendly staff and seated quickly, bearing in mind there were a few of us and we did call ahead. Food was terrific, yes it takes a while but it's well worth it and cosy enough to have a drink in the meantime. Not cheap,... More

I have visited twice now and both times have been severely disappointed by the portion size. On the last visit, me and my boyfriend opted to share the fish sharing platter, ordering some chips to 'cover us' in case it was on the smaller side. We couldn't have anticipated that the £14 sharing board would only have had 4 tiny... More
