More of a snack than a full lunch!

Wanted to visit the model village at Bekonscot which I last visited some 35 years ago (see separate review), but after putting the Tuscany beef casserole in the slow cooker that morning, my partner and I decided to go out for the day and stopped at this pub at about 2 p.m. last Sunday. Four of us stopped there for lunch on our way back home the food looked very interesting, and had a good variety of items. The starters took a while to come out however my mum had ordered the asparagus and poached egg, although the egg turned out to be hard boiled instead, the waitress did change it as soon as... More

The stand out for the Saracens Head is the menu - a good mix of favourites and new dishes, usually with a twist and nearly always with excellent flavours and taste. The setting is mixed across casual seating in the pub, a more formal dining area and a nice outside courtyard. Service is friendly and usually good and the place... More

There's a great choice of food and it's been lovely quality the two times I've eaten there. The serving staff are also really friendly. I'd definitely come here again.

We went there last night and had a great meal. We were seated straight away and the waiter was attentive and around when we needed him. I had the squid to start which was nice (but not the best ive ever had) it had obviously just been cooked as it was very hot and the batter was crispy and seasoned... More

Booked in advance, which based on the number of customers in the restaurant was definetly the right thing to do. We had booked for 6pm, Staff greeted us well and were attentive and looked after us well. menu was large with a great variety of food available. Even more astonishing was that all items were available . Most pub/restaurants on... More

Went for Mothers Day lunch with our family of eight and were very pleasantly surprised. The Reataurant was extremely busy but we did not have any delay. Staff were exceptionally polite and welcoming. The Sunday Roast was a plate full and tasted fresh. Good portions of veg. Actually, with pudding and wine, it was an altogether great Lunch experience. Well... More

OK so my previous experience at the Saracen's Head was shall we say a little mixed, but this time was considerably better. I popped in with a business associate for a catch up and a quick bite to eat. He had never been so we thought let's give it a go. Pleasantly surprised and changed my view of the place... More

Had a great lunch here with friends. Food was excellent and the pub had a very good atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend it and would visit again.

We were looking for an authentic UK pub with good food. Beaconsfield Old Town is a beautiful location so what could go wrong? The Royal Saracens Head is ok, the menu is comprehensive but the restaurant feels very "corporate". It is a great place for families who want a restaurant experience but the place is clearly run by a manager... More
