CAPE FEAR: Know your place!

Went here several times and loved the food, décor and ambience. Then one week something really disturbing happened. I made the huge mistake of politely asking what I thought was one of the staff for something. It turned out to be the lady owner who then started clicking her fingers at one of the... read more

Went in on a Sunday for sandwiches etc. the food came on time and was so tasty, highly recommend you for the food. However, upon finishing our meals we sat with our plates for 40 minutes whilst the waitresses packed away, cleaned the entire restaurant and did their close down. They walked past us countless times which made it even... More

First time visit with friends who had been before. Sat night. Great menu, lots of South African specialities, all well explained by staff. Three senior staff were awesome, so helpful. We will return!

After being told we couldn't sit at a vacant larger table, we sat at a cramped small table along the side of this restaurant. We were then forgotten about - no one came to take our order. The staff are disorganised, tables are not promptly re prepared and people around us were complaining about how long it took to be... More

I had the prawns and avocado which was perfect and my wife had the lobster bisque, which she also loved. I then had the steak, lovely and pink and the fish dish... More

Dropped in yesterday for a coffee as we didn't want go to a chain. Lovely decor and the service was excellent. My husband had a piece of red velvet cake, which was delicious, however later on the owner came up and asked who had had the cake. She said that as it had been cut earlier and therefore was a... We recently went for breakfast and hadn't visited since it had been revamped a little while ago. Because of this I checked with their website to see if they still did The Wakey Wakey menu and according to it they still did. Unfortunately we were given the regular breakfast menu and on querying about the other menu was told they... More

We had a quick lunch stop at The Cape having never been there before. New waitress only started this week but knows what she's doing! Had the steak on ciabbatta which was very tasty. My wife had the tempura prawns salad which she raved about. Good glasses of wine, even though my knowledge of SA wine is limited but will... More

Coffee and cake with a girlfriend at The Cape was lovely. New decor very funky and we sat in the front window with lovely cushions to lean on. Service brilliant, coffee and cake lovely and ambience great.
