I chose this place as my Mum and I were wedding dress shopping nearby and needed a quick pit stop before going on to the next shop. We were drawn to this South African place as my Mum visits South Africa every year and we both love the wine there! Lovely décor, unusual place. Friendly staff and there was just... More

Lovely cafe with nice interior (very much to my taste!). Waited to be seated and had the choice of front or back of the cafe, chose the back as it had more atmosphere (it was fairly busy but with plenty of staff service shouldn't lack) - as soon as we were seated we were asked what drinks we would like,... Ive been eating at the cape for years as the flavours and frehness of the food and the menu selection are the best around for miles. The new decor is excellent and we have always found the service friendly and the owners in particular keen that everyone has a first rate meal. Having eaten here many times we have had... More

I have had a bit of drama trying to leave a review for this restaurant which I will explain below. I visited here around about a year ago with my boyfriend for dinner. I always meant to leave a review but life gets in the way! The decor of the restaurant is lovely, they've made it feel very intimate and... More

As stated on the reply to your last review, which T/A removed as it breached guidelines ( your review not my response) we consider this to be a malicious & fictitious review, proved even more so by you claiming you ate on a week night about a year ago, we have not been open during weekday evenings now for at... The food in here is fantastic. I had a great meal with my boyfriend and found the service good too. The inside of the restaurant is also very nice. However I would have to agree with other reviewers that the comments the manager leaves to any slightly negative reviews are an awful display of communication. I had a great time... More

I had come to stay with my best friend and she had told me before coming that we were going to be going here fore breakfast. Being me, I googled cape first because I take a while to choose what I want to order. I chose the royale as I love smoked salmon and poached eggs. It's probably the best... More

My boyfriend and I came here a couple of days ago, it was my first time but we had been meaning to go for a while as my boyfriend had been before and suggested that I would really like it. We arrived at roughly 11.15 with a few customers in the cafe. I was initially very impressed by the beautiful... More

I am very sorry that you did not enjoy your visit to the cape, and that you found our extensive breakfast menu not exciting enough for you, we would of course we liked to hear about it on the day so we could rectify any short comings. It is very frustrating to read about it on Trip advisor, as a... More

The Cape puts the chic in not only the decor, but the food too! We stopped by for lunch, hoping that they would be able to cater for my vegan requirements, how lucky was I, we were served a veritable veggie feast! My friend who enjoys meat and fish was also tempted and chose to have a veggie day with... More

More than meets the eye. From the outside it looks small and uninviting, but it's bigger than it looks and pretty decent food. Pleasant place for informal coffee, lunch, afternoon tea etc.
