Lovely Meal & blast from the past (in a good way)

My Mother in law booked a table for 4 to celebrate her birthday. I have driven past Guido's for years & years and always wanted to have a meal there. As other reviews have commented on it's old fashioned, but in a lovely way. The staff were all very friendly and happy to have a laugh with us. It... read more

Booked a table for my dads 85th birthday and at the last minute needed to add an extra person in...Guidos dealt with our request magnificently with minimum fuss and upmost discretion. The food is beautifully cooked and as you are served by the waiters individually, you get the portion size that you would like which is excellent with dining with... More

Wholesome Italian food as I remember it from 20-30 years ago. Many other reviewers have commented on how Guido has maintained the decor, service and menus of years gone by and so I will not repeat them. I took my 23 year old grandson for dinner here on a Wednesday evening. He has never experienced a steak Dianne cooked by... More

I took my wife here for Sunday lunch the day after her birthday. The food was excellent although the soup could have been a little warmer. It had a very good selection on the menu and I didn't struggle to find plenty that I liked. The welcome reception was a delight and the chap that showed us to the table... More

My wife and I have been to Guidos on average four times a year for a long time. It can be expensive so we go for special occasions. Nothing has changed, including the menu, for years and it is all the better for that. From the pre meal drinks to when you leave the service is unbeatable with great food.... More

This still is a great restaurant, service is great and the food wonderful. It is just stuck a little in the 80's. So as long as you can bare that, great place to go for a special occasion.

We were given a real welcome with a smile. We were made feel so welcome and special. The surrounding are very homely and comfortable. It was so difficult to choose from the lovely menu. The food was absolutely lovely and again the service was fantastic. Something a bit special about this place I just could not put my finger on.... More

We went with a group of 12 and had a separate room, which helped the atmosphere for us no end. We were eating from the Christmas menu and had, therefore, pre-ordered. This meant that the service was first class-prompt, accurate and efficient. The food was excellent-fresh and tasty. The mushroom tart had light and flaky pastry and plenty of mushrooms,... More

We want here with our three children to celebrate our daughter's birthday. Guido's is an old-fashioned restaurant with excellent service and delicious food. Pasta is made fresh in house and I would highly recommend the Steak Diane, which is delicious. We did find it was a bit pricey, especially when you include first courses and wine.
