TRADITIONAL ITALIAN RESTAURANT

Well run in the traditional manner. A family owned establishment with a bar, waiting area overlooking an attractive garden. The wine list is good. A good choice of veal items on a well varied menu. The sweet trolley leaves a diner spoilt for choice. Overall a very satisfying experience.

2 course meal for 2 with a glass of wine was c£40pp. The food was very average, nice, but nothing special. The place is very dated, it's nit a quaint old Italian anymore. More like a Resturant stuck in the 90s. The old family running it were very nice and silver service although a nice touch probably a dated way... More

We dined here a few years ago and were pleased and so we returned in February. Generally very satisfactory. Good size, tasty portions and staff are attentive and pleasant. Restaurant and most of the staff have been there for years and served probably a million meals! Menu in Italian and English with reasonable choice of very English traditional dishes. Two... More

I took my wife here for a Valentines Day Dinner. It was absolutely superb. From the moment we arrived it all went like clockwork. The staff were so efficient and friendly and the food was Oh! so tasty. We will definitely be going back there again and highly recommend it for a place to go for a "special meal or... More

Our first visit to this restaurant as recommended and booked by friends. I agree with other comments about it being old fashioned but that wasn't really an issue for me personally, however the staff have clearly been there since day one. Initially the service was very good but we found as the evening went on the staff were less attentive... More

A visit to Guido was like stepping back into my childhood or at least my first dining experiences with my parents in the 80s. If you go with it, you can have a great night out. You sit in the bar on arrival to peruse the menu and order a drink. Service is from large platters at the table. Steak... More

Was on business and tried this place as close to where I was staying. A little bit too old fashioned for me - I quite like having vegetables left on the table so I can help myself and decide how much I would like rather than them being served. Was a little taken aback that some carrots and potatoes cost... More

Can't go wrong here with the food ,I have always found it great, and I come about 3 or 4 times a year. The waiters have for the most part been here for ever and the service is normally superb. My one criticism is it can feel a little old fashioned and the menu although to my tastes doesn't change... More
