Open for Dinner on a Sunday Night

Well, this is a well presented modernised country's' pub, that serves quite stylish Italian food. Service is good, in terms of charm and input, but it was not exactly snappy. Anyway, it is a fun place with good food, that IS open on a Sunday night for dinner. However, it is pricey and doesn't... read more

We visited the Plough on a Saturday evening for a meal with my youngest son and his girlfriend. We booked the day before with no problems and on arrival were shown straight to a good sized table in a corner with a view out through a large window. We were brought menus straightaway, although there was a wait before the... More

The look of the restaurant was nice but it took an hour for 5 mains when we were the only people seated. I was served a linguine dish in a cold bowl, with sauce and food on the outside of the bowl and under the rim, and the food was barely warm. Drinks took at least 10 minutes, despite all... More

"MEH" with a dose of ignorance!!! Your review is sadly yet another sign of ignorant people who have fallen into the fast food, chain culture of dining out. You arrived with a party of 5 at 5.45pm, asking if we were serving food. it was explained that we would be serving food very shortly. Kitchen staff come back on duty... More

Thank you for your comments always good to hear the positives. I am left wondering though what you feel is not good value, it always helps to have details. Bearing in mind all our food is handmade on the premises, it is not easy to compare us to other Italian eateries. We regularly check our competitors prices and are proud... More

Welcome on arrival was all fine, ordered a mojito from cocktail list in front of me on the bar, after a bit of a kerfuffle about whether any of the staff could make one, I was advised that they had no lime. So no mojito. We had our first drink outside, then came in and waited to be shown to... More

I am sorry to hear about your experience with us, i have looked into your comments with a bit of guess work, as not 100 % certain which day you visited. We had a very busy weekend, hence some of the food was not available, as you rightly stated this can happen when food is freshly prepared. However it is... More

Had a Pizza here recently and was very unimpressed with the food or the service. The Pizza was soggy in the middle and to be honest I have had better frozen ones. I was with a party of four and not once did the waiter come over and ask if everything was o.k.

I am always astounded when i read reviews like this, whilst i can take on board your comments, apologise bla bla, What can one actually do after the event? It amazes me that you are happy to sit and eat something not to your liking, say nothing, put up with service that does not impress you and do and say nothing,... More

We visited the plough early evening with two pre school children and sat out in the garden, with pretty views over the village green. We found that the food was ok but poor value. The children's meals had no vegetables or salad - just fish/chicken and chips. I would have expected some sort of salad or peas on the side.... More

I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy your food at The Plough. Over time we have noted that very young children hardly ever eat either sides of salad or vegetables and it was a choice not to include them on the childrens menu. We are always happy to make anything from the main menu in a childs' portion... More

My partner and I visited this pub on Saturday evening and sat in the front garden - this catches the sun perfectly in the evening so is warm with a nice view of the green. We had starters of bruschetta and calamari which were both really good, however the pizzas were out of this world. The crust was perfect -... More

I debated about whether to rate poor or average, but decided poor mainly due to service, which will be explained (quite detailed, sorry!) I have lived in Beaconsfield for the majority of my life, and had been looking forward to visiting the Plough as this was one of the only restaurants in the wider area which I have not been... More

Thank you very much for your comments. I am very sad to hear you had such a poor experience. Your experience created the completely wrong impression of what we are all about. Whilst invariably we do have some local customers our clientele is mostly made up from a wider audience from far and wide. As you will know from the... More

We have visited the plough on 4 occasions now, twice in larger family groups and twice as a couple with our young son. The first impressions are always good. Lots of parking at the back. Lovely artisan shop to wander through on your way in and then the tastefully decorated & thoughtfully furnished bar and restaurant are a welcome site.... More

Thank you so much for the very positive response, always a pleasure to hear good things. Thank you for your comments regarding our dessert menu, this is something we have struggled with a little, mainly because we do not want to buy in any ready made or frozen products. We are currently working on some ideas to improve in this... More

Had the pleasure of spending a good part of the day here a a couple of weeks ago for my best friend's wedding - I will probably run out of superlatives to describe everything!
