Great food , excellent hospitality

We've been to Village Mangal many times, always great Turkish food and hospitality. Good atmosphere, the best Turkish delight and always made welcome.

Visited here as it was recommended by a friend. First bit of advice - BOOK A TABLE! Always been packed when I've visited so best off booking in advance if you can. Went in a group and with my partner on two seperate occasions. Great bread and dips given to you to start. Very tasty and fresh. Beer and wine... More

No problem with food .waited 30 minutes to get a drink, after they took the order twice ,when the food arrived it was piled on the table with very little room to move then brought out baskets of bread which we should of had at the beginning .as members of the party finished the meal plates where being collected while... I visited with a friend early on Sunday evening. I didn't book, as I thought not too many people would be eating at 6pm. How wrong I was - only a couple of empty tables, but luckily one wasn't booked. I thought it an auspicious start and I wasn't wrong. We ordered a bottle of house red (under £15) which... More

Had a lovely meal there last night. The mixed special for 2 was amazing. A perfect amount of food for 2 big eaters. If you have room for desert, you must try the baclava, it is to die for!! Will definitely go for another visit!

We visited midweek not expecting it to be busy. I called to book and was advised to turn up at 6.30 but aslong as we left by 8. Whilst there on the plus side the food was fabulous, served promptly and hot. On the negative side we felt very rushed- we were not given adequate to look at the menu... More

I think my title says it all really. Nice variety of starters, everyone ordered a different main course (which were huge) but when we all tasted each others they tasted almost identical - quite bland for Turkish food. Would have loved to have seen fresh salads as a side. Friendly and efficient service. The whole meal (including drinks) was reasonably... More

I always worry about kebabs in England as it is so easy to hide bad meat behind the grease and trimmings This restaurant gives you real meat and the breads and salads are very generous. Definitely worth a visit but do not expect an intimate meal - go for the quality of the food

We have dropped in on our way home to pick up takeaways, before - always good - and had lunch a couple of weeks ago. Looks a bit like a cafe from the outside, and it's functional but don't let that put you off. It's clean, cheerful, offers good service, is licensed and has some traditional decor inside. Often busy,... More
