We went with family and friends, and it is fine for an average meal out. The staff are friendly, polite and nice to the children. They have a kids menu too.

We went on Saturday, it was freezing cold, service was so slow, when food arrived one of the dishes was stone cold. My daughter cheese and potato pie was tastless, and looked vile. We will not be going back .

Visited for a late lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was not at all busy. The food was nice however the restaurant was very cold despite the fire being lit. The service was very average with our dishes just being left in the centre of the table rather than given to the correct people. Our deserts were also forgotten about... More

A perfect example of what average looks and feels like. Nothing out of the ordinary including service. Food is nothing special.

We are new in the area and decided to check this pub out. We visited them 3 days earlier to book the table and by the looks of it we were really impressed by ghe atmosphere and decor. However when we went to actually eat there we were quite disappointed.. The starters were over-fried and thus were so crunchy but... More

Disappointed since have had good meals here. Whilst the baked brie starter was very good the prawn cocktail was mediocre. The lamb shoulder also very good ,but the vegetables were undercooked and the carrots still had their heads on. The other main course of fish cakes had little flavour and the potatoes were overcooked/soggy.

I popped in here last week with a friend as I was looking for a traditional British meal and was not disappointed. The meal was great value and great quality. I thought the service was excellent and staff were very helpful and the environment was extremely comfortable and relaxed. Well done to Pomeroy and the only thing I would suggest... More

Without reservation, we popped in last night. We ordered from the main menu, two of us being a bit picky, wanting the rump steak, one medium and one medium rare. Both were cooked to our satisfaction. Neither wanted the chips or vegetables on offer, requested that a salad was substituted - no problem at all. My husband had the British... More
