Disappointing

We dropped into the The Pomeroy on Sunday, 21 June 2015 for a late lunch. The place was busy, it was Father's Day, so we, happily, sat in the bar. The special was a seafood platter the description sounded a very enticing treat with muscles, tiger prawns, calamari etc. the reality was less so... read more

We used to visit the Pom at least once a month. The last 12-18 months it has gone drastically downhill. We keep making the mistake of given them a second chance every 6 months or so. We won't again. We sat outside on account of having our dog with us. There used to be bowls of water for canine companions... More

I work round the corner from this pub and me and a friend went in our lunch break for a drink and food. Hadn't been to the pub for a while as previously the bad service had put us off but thought we would give it a go again.....Big MISTAKE! They just cannot get it right. All we ordered was... More

Me and my fiancé took my mum and dad for dinner on a Saturday evening at 8.30 for a reservation, we had a garlic tear and share and it was like a cheese boat leaving a dry yet under cooked crust, I had the hunters chicken and it was dry as a bucket of sand and the bacon was burnt... More

Although uninteresting as you approach, once inside there is a good combination of old beams and modern glass walls. A good selection of ales and other drinks and a varied, and large, menu make dining a pleasure.

Father day special, but it didn't disappoint despite being so very busy, it's as popular as ever and it's not hard to see why, good food, well presented, great beer and nice relaxing atmosphere, staff polite and friendly and excellent attention to detail and service, great lunch, will be keep this as one of my favourites.

My wife and I were part of a family party of 5. The pub itself is very nice with a good range of beers and lagers. No keg beers - great! I had the steak and kidney pie and it was very poor. A lot of pubs make the mix and put a top of pastry on but this was... More

I arrived here with 9 friends on a Saturday lunch time, having not booked a table, as we were touring the area. The staff were very accommodating, moving three tables together for us. The food was very good, large portions and well presented. A really enjoyable experience.

Several neighbours had said how much improved the place was, so feeling lazy we went on a Monday evening. Took pot luck by not booking and were shown a nice light area with just a few table in it. Small hiccough when the apple juice materialised as Coca Cola but soon swopped. Our food was pipping hot. I had chicken... More
