Visited this pub a few times and had some great experiences and some not so good ones. For a very hot and lovely evening, only to have two members of staff on was not a good idea! Felt bad for the staff, but we saw a dish go to the wrong table, one never arrived and food all varied in... read more

I hadn't been to the Pom for a while - glad I hadn't read all these reviews before deciding to take a visitor from overseas to try a British pub! We thoroughly enjoyed our food and excellent, friendly service. Our visitor had beer battered mushrooms followed by steak & merlot pie, and polished off the lot! I had the chicken... More

I would completely disagree with all of the below comments. I went this evening with my partner as we are staying in the local area. The food was beautiful and plenty of choice for a fussy eater! The food was extremely well presented and tasted fabulous. Choice of pudding was also great and tasted amazing! The service and atmosphere was... More

Appearances are deceptive in this attractive pub . It is well appointed, with a bar and tables set out attractively. I have recently moved into this area and have made several lunch time visits with friends. I was so embarrassed by the standard of inedible chicken, cold chips and fish cakes with no taste of fish which was served. So... More

Well I'm lost for words if honest . Pub setting is fantastic but and a huge BUT the food is completely rubbish . Had pork belly ! Well a cremated pork strip more like . Veg over cooked beyond belief . And the chips were over fried ten times in obviously dirty over used oil and the black pudding was... More

4 of us went to the Pomeroy for a double date. I chose the Pomeroy as I've been before and its a nice, classy pub. The service isn't great though and the food was pretty average. Great menu let down by what comes out of the kitchen. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, it just wasn't as nice as... More

Visited for lunch with a friend. Disappointing menu really, nothing for my gluten free friend, only chips!! We had a chicken and bacon brown bap (she didn't have bap), so wasn't much left! With a salad and chips. Chips were ok, bacon and chicken overcooked. Decor was ok, place was empty. Garden looked quite nice. Poor reviews - is it... More

We used to visit the Pom at least once a month. The last 12-18 months it has gone drastically downhill. We keep making the mistake of given them a second chance every 6 months or so. We won't again. We sat outside on account of having our dog with us. There used to be bowls of water for canine companions... More

I work round the corner from this pub and me and a friend went in our lunch break for a drink and food. Hadn't been to the pub for a while as previously the bad service had put us off but thought we would give it a go again.....Big MISTAKE! They just cannot get it right. All we ordered was... More
