Just ok

Limited menu. Fairly nude decor. Waited ages for order to be taken. Limited to one vegetarian option which was a Brie in breadcrumbs and salad so ordered this. Waitress returned ten minutes later to say they had no breadcrumbs and could I have it without! Disappointing. Ended up with basically a... read more

My second visit to this nice place of food and drink and it continues to impress. Despite the blaring fire alarm on entry, the covering manager was so friendly and welcoming, it felt like I'd be coming here for years! Finding a spot in the sun at one of the many tables, we ordered the food and drink.  Being from... More

We often use this and it's sister (The Firecrest) after work to save cooking. Our last visit, the Thursday before Easter for dinner was rather disappointing. Although still early 7pm) and less than half full, we were told that already half the 'specials' were sold out. They had also run out of steak and cauliflower. Service was very friendly but... More

Good meeting or eating with family, friends or for business meetings. Staff always helpful & the menu offers a good selection at a reasonable cost.

Being away for a training course for work, this place was recommended for myself and four others for a decent meal! I like the rustic and old country pub look from the outside to inside, it was a nice atmosphere walking in. We sat down and ordered drinks and it was clear to see the staff were a little busy... Have visited this restaurant on a number of occasions but last visit left us completely frustrated and dissatisfied. We were part of a party of 12 and all decided for the sake of time not to order starters. Our main meals came out 55mins later, in the mean time others in the restaurant who ordered after us were served hot... More

Eleven of us met up for lunch after a morning meeting. Friendly greeting, nice table and atmosphere. Food excellent good amount and nicely presented and served. We each paid individual and it was totally hassle free. Will go again and definitely recommend to others.

The Pomeroy has unfortunately become just another of those conveyor-belt pubs offering "home cooked" fayre which in reality only involves someone bunging a frozen pie or piece of fish and into the oven for 30 minutes and serving it up with a selection of grubby sauce and condiment pots. The constant revolving door of staff recruitments and departures degenerates the... More

We ate here as a party of 6 people on a Saturday night in late February . Staff extremely charming as always. Have recently moved into area and I have to say this really is the most welcoming venue. Food is delicious and does not feel like part of the small chain it is. Fantastic value for money which pleased... More
