Great food let down by the service

My friend and I had a table booked for 7.30pm on a Saturday evening and decided to arrive 30 mins earlier to have a drink. I ordered two glasses of pimms and lemonade and the boy behind the bar was very confused by this request for some reason. We asked if we could have this on a tab as we... read more

We have been loyal patrons for 3+ years and tonight was such a disappointing meal. The service was slow, new management and a mediocre (very limited) menu meant we had a horrible meal. Bar staff didn't know anything and tried to tell us they couldn't say which wine was driest as it was 'a matter of personal taste' (clearly trying... More

We've been to this restaurant a number of times and I've been very disappointed with the quality of the food. The first time the steak was inedible and second time for the roast and was given so little food it wouldn't have qualified as a children's portion. Very disappointed and won't be going again!

Friday night no Bulmers run out. Food ok. Not as good as when Chrissy was there. Young people talking about wanting to be rich. So far I have heard every swear word tonight. Others talking about half term is that under age people!!! Oh now talking about GBH SAS Arson........

The standard of this pub have continued to slip over the past year. The food is basic and nothing appears to be home made, I'm guessing most of the menu comes from a mass produced company. I would not mind if this was reflected in the prices. It is not. The White lion down the road must be picking up... More

My second visit to this nice place of food and drink and it continues to impress. Despite the blaring fire alarm on entry, the covering manager was so friendly and welcoming, it felt like I'd be coming here for years! Finding a spot in the sun at one of the many tables, we ordered the food and drink.  Being from... More

Limited menu. Fairly nude decor. Waited ages for order to be taken. Limited to one vegetarian option which was a Brie in breadcrumbs and salad so ordered this. Waitress returned ten minutes later to say they had no breadcrumbs and could I have it without! Disappointing. Ended up with basically a lump of Brie and some leaves.

We often use this and it's sister (The Firecrest) after work to save cooking. Our last visit, the Thursday before Easter for dinner was rather disappointing. Although still early 7pm) and less than half full, we were told that already half the 'specials' were sold out. They had also run out of steak and cauliflower. Service was very friendly but... More

Good meeting or eating with family, friends or for business meetings. Staff always helpful & the menu offers a good selection at a reasonable cost.
