Great place for meeting Friends and family

The Restaurant and bar area has been recently refurbished, best to get a table in the glass area as it is more private, otherwise all the other other tables are too close together so you can hear their conversations! all said the food is of very good standard for a pub. We have been here several times. Food was really nice and well presented. Staff were friendly and approachable. However they do have all different types of offers, before 5pm and after. If you can work out which suits you better then a good deal is to be had! Dog friendly which is always a plus. Will be back again soon!... More

The food is OK, service is slow. It takes an age to get seated and served. A lovely old building. The management have lille idea of customer service, the other staff are willing and try their best. A little too familiar when serving.

Firstly, the waitress was very busy but still managed to do a great job of making us feel like a valued customer. One word of warning - DO NOT TRY the Crackling. (starter). It was as hard as iron. What ever possessed the chef to send this out to us I cannot imagine. He should try some and he will... More

Visited this pub a few times and had some great experiences and some not so good ones. For a very hot and lovely evening, only to have two members of staff on was not a good idea! Felt bad for the staff, but we saw a dish go to the wrong table, one never arrived and food all varied in... More

I hadn't been to the Pom for a while - glad I hadn't read all these reviews before deciding to take a visitor from overseas to try a British pub! We thoroughly enjoyed our food and excellent, friendly service. Our visitor had beer battered mushrooms followed by steak & merlot pie, and polished off the lot! I had the chicken... More

I would completely disagree with all of the below comments. I went this evening with my partner as we are staying in the local area. The food was beautiful and plenty of choice for a fussy eater! The food was extremely well presented and tasted fabulous. Choice of pudding was also great and tasted amazing! The service and atmosphere was... More

Appearances are deceptive in this attractive pub . It is well appointed, with a bar and tables set out attractively. I have recently moved into this area and have made several lunch time visits with friends. I was so embarrassed by the standard of inedible chicken, cold chips and fish cakes with no taste of fish which was served. So... More

Well I'm lost for words if honest . Pub setting is fantastic but and a huge BUT the food is completely rubbish . Had pork belly ! Well a cremated pork strip more like . Veg over cooked beyond belief . And the chips were over fried ten times in obviously dirty over used oil and the black pudding was... More
