I am selective when it comes to food safety so I checked the food hygiene standards and spice society tops any other local Indian restaurant in the local area. They have been awarded the highest ratings by the independent local council's environmental department. Since moving to the area I have tried almost all the local Indian restaurant but have to... Moved into the area 2 months ago and our local neighbour highly recommended this restaurant. After weeks of trying to book a table it was worth the wait. The waiters were well presented and prompt. On arrival one gentleman took the coats whilst the other guided us to the table. The drinks and pappadums arrived promptly. The waiter was asked... More

I have been try to eat here for a month or two but they are booked on most Fridays/Saturdays between 7:30-9:00. Mainly because it's a small restaurant that can take less than 30 covers at a time. I had read all the reviews and as this is close to us I was looking forward to it. We invited another couple... More

Having just moved to the area we asked a local where to get good value food. He kindly gave us a run-down of all the places and suggested this was “the best Indian for twenty miles” and so we walked in excited. The place was a long dark, dusty tunnel with tables either side. It had dark wood panels and... More

I've been eating here, both eat in and takeaways, for years now since Srabon closed on the Broadway and I'm always delighted with the service and quality of the food. Many other Indian restaurants have opened and changed hands around Amersham but Spice Society remains my favourite. The staff are lovely, always have good suggestions and free bottle of Cobra... Best Indian in the area. The tandoori chicken is moist and refreshingly undyed - I’m very wary of what goes into tandoori colouring. Service is good, and the place is very cosy. Perhaps a bit tight on space, but for a good authentic indian, it’s fine.

Well, parking was a bit difficult. But apart from that - brilliant prawn puri to start (onion bhajees only OK though), very smooth main courses, brinjal bhajee not as good as some (I like big pieces and quite oily, this was small chopped pieces and slightly watery), classy ambience, not at all expensive, very good service. No signal on my... More

Not too much to add that hasn't been said already. I've had both eat in and takeaway from here and both are excellent. Gets incredibly busy here so the wait for takeaway orders can take a while, but it's well worth the wait. So far had nothing bad to eat and the service has always been good. Even got a... More

What a nice surprise small cosy restaurant, polite and accomodating waiters the food was of a very high standard and at a good price. There to offer advice on food but not in your face high quality food and very tasty well worth a visit, why go to an alternative cheap harvester when the real thing is in amersham
