The food in this place is very tasty and the Mexican cuisine is at its best. Yummiest sauce with mushrooms and great guacamole! Postres are nice too and place offers pasta and burgers for those who get tired of Mexican food but the gringas and burritos are to die for. Would really recommend this cute place, couple of blocks down... More

Sweet spot about 4 blocks off the main plaza (5 minute walk). Reasonable prices, interesting artwork. Would definitely recommend.

This was, bar none, the best meal I've had in Mexico. I just asked my waiter to recommend something, and he chose a chicken dish with a cream sauce and green chiles. And mashed potatoes. When it arrived, it was a work of art. And it tasted even better. I fear I will dream about this dish for some time... More

We spend 2 weeks in Mexico and the best and cheapest dinner we had was at Conato Restaurant. Anything you order it will be delicious. Try fresh fruit juice and don't miss their guacamole, the best in Mexico!

Once the meeting place for revolutionaries and decorated with homages to Frida Kahlo, this small restaurant has reputedly the best food in town and didn't fail to deliver. We had cocktails and mushrooms to die for, followed by veggie burro and grilled chicken which sound the same as in many restaurants, but came up particularly tasty.

We really enjoyed the food - Denis told us the salad was safe to eat here, which gave us the heads up, but it is also really excellent. Their meals were really special, wonderful sauces and preparation and especially friendly staff.

We'd just returned to our hotel in Valladolid after having our best meal while in the Yucatan. We spent eight wonderful days in Merida and are working our way back to Cancun to fly home and came here for one day and night to see the cenotes. We looked online and found great reviews for Conato restaurant so decided to... More

For our one night in Valladolid we decided to eat at Conato and were very glad we did. The food was great, beautifully presented, lots of options, very flavourful.....and the service was perfect. The atmosphere is definitely Bohemian and charming and even though the diners the night we went were Canadian, Brits, French and American it did not feel touristy... More

We were in Valladolid seven nights and ate here three of them. It's not easy to find, but well worth the effort. Some of the menu is standard fair - Mayan and Mexican food for tourists and locals. They also have items to suite other tastes if you're ready for more variety. The lettuce and ice are safe, the food... More

We had arrived in Mexico from the UK and had been travelling all day. Although 9pm local time it was 3am to us and we just wanted a quick meal before crashing out. The food that arrived was really good – a great way to start the holiday. We loved it so much that we returned again the following evening.... More
