Our advice (if you are new to Mexican food) is to choose the sample platter and find out what you like. You can work off lunch by swimming in the cenote afterwards.

My son and I recently visited the restaurant at Cenote Zaci. The restaurant sits right on the rim of a large Cenote. The water is crystal clear and there are ropes running across the Cenote to give the weary swimmer something to grab on to once you get in and realize you have to swim across the Cenote in order... We were taken to this restaurant by our Mexican guide earlier this week as it has a pleasant setting by the cenote. The food was mediocre and moreover led to an attack of Moctezuma's revenge the next day (my husband and I had identical dishes). I also forgot my camera on the table (yes, silly) and did not get it... More

Cenote Zaci is bang in the middle of the town and I have to admit looked a bit blah from the top, so we initially decided not to go down. However, we did have very pleasant lunch at the restaurant overlooking it (there's little old ladies sitting at the entrance making their tortillas) and this gave us free entry down... More

3 blocks from the centro of Valladolid is the park of Cenote Zaci. It is well worth the walk, to see stalactites and the immense grandeur of this massive natural cenote. It is possible to swim, but there is no lifeguard and can get pretty crowded on weekends.

Its very small but a bit of fun. If your on the brave side you can dive or jump from high up into the water

Not all cenotes are created equal. This is very intriguing & next to a nice, quiet place to eat. I recommend both.

We visited this cenote as part of our tour with Experiancias Xcaret. The cenote is beautiful, with gorgeous blue water. The area surrounding it has steps and a pathway for easy access to the water. But I wouldnot swim here. The rain washes the street dirt and stuff into the cenote making the water dirty. There is a market outside,... More

We visited first thing in the morning, no one was there, but I can see that it could get very busy on a hot day!

This is a local place that sits adjacent to the Zaci Cenote a couple of blocks from the main square. If you have never been to one, this would be a great introduction. Warning that tours from Cancun stop at about 3 pm everyday so it might be best to avoid that time, if you want to swim. The food... More
