Very good food and service

We rented a house, and our first night there we went to Maya Luna for dinner at sunset. Palapa patio and a cold beer, a good combo anytime... our family of four had octopus, coco shrimp, stuffed pineapple, and seafood soup, and everything was well prepared and quite tasty. Interesting influences... read more

We stayed at a nearby hotel and visited Maya Luna for dinner one evening. The patio was airy and relaxed as the sun set. Candlelit and moonlit with a small crowd of guests who made for good people watching and some very friendly dogs enjoying all of the attention. Since this is a seafood heavy area, I was happy to... We stayed just down the street from Maya Luna at Balamku Inn. Balamku offered breakfast, but not lunch and dinner, so we just walked along the beach for a few minutes to enjoy the food (and drinks) at Maya Luna. We were THRILLED with how delicious it was. We ended up there almost every day of our trip. Our favorite... More

We were in Mahaual for a week at Balamku which doesn't have a restaurant so we ate at Maya Luna almost everyday. We had almost everything on the menu and without fail it was delicious. The first night we arrived we walked down and just as we got there the sign light went out. We thought maybe they were closing... More

During a recent 4 day stay in Mahahual we made the drive to Maya Luna for dinner on our last night and were really glad we did! Spectacular location a few kms down the beach road from Mahahual. Amazing beach view from the lovely outdoor dining area (Iooks even nicer than in pictures). The entrees were amazing and prices were... More

We did not stay at this guest house, but had two excellent meals in the beach front restaurant. They serve a fusion of Caribbean / Indonesian / Mexican cuisine. The stuffed pineapple (shrimp, cashews, & rice) was fabulous. We want the recipe! The curried shrimp in coconut was also delicious, as was the Indonesian rice platter. Of course, the Margaritas...
