If in Akumal and you're willing to walk 15 mins from the main beach into the town or pueblo, this low key but well run taco joint is completely worth it! Prices are very reasonable and as someone who lived many years in this area, I can say with experience that every bite of food was local food heaven! It's... More

The best suprise in town (pueblo side). They serve Mexican food which is really cheap. The place is simple, very clean and managed by the family who owns it. They are really nice and friendly and they can definitely cook properly. I always go back for my Pork Tacos they are delicious.

This is a lovely family run restaurant. Its more on the rustic side than fancy but clean and cute. You can watch the whole family cooking in an open kitchen. We had great stuffed and crumbed chicken breast, grilled shrimp and delicious black beans. The owner even shared her recipe for black beans with us, humoring our broken spanish. There were... More

I have eaten at this restaurant several times over the past 2 years and have never been disappointed. Their menu includes the standard Yucatecan food, plus other items that add enough variety for every taste. The sopa de lima is different from others that I have had; but is an absolute must, when it is available. I have had lots... More

Do yourself a favor and go into town away from the beach and experience the local vibe. This restaurant is clearly family owned and they treat you with open arms. The menu had standard choices but with very good prices.

Quiet, quaint family run restaurant. Cross the bridge from the playa up the hill right at the police station and it's at the next corner. There were no other diners there tonight...it was just me and the pet rabbit! I had the beef fajitas, served with rice and re fried beans...80 pesos. A good sized portion more than I could... More

Just a short drive up from bahia principe hotel in Akumal Pueblo, this family run business gave us the experience we were so desperate for - to eat like the mexicans do, in their own surroundings. Tiny restaurant with a pet rabbit running around, the food was fresh and cooked to order. The tacos were fantastic and the fajitas as... More

We ate here to get away from the beach scene, the food was good, cooked fresh, and the service was good as well. You really got a sense of a family run business as they cooked the food right there after you order, so no complaints on the quality/tastiness of the food itself. While the restaurant and seating area is... More

Our favorite place for dinner in Akumal (across the highway in the pueblo). Delicious, fresh food; great service; hardworking family that makes dining there an enjoyable experience. We fell in love with the chorizo quesadillas and the fish tacos but everything we had was good. Guacamole is made when you order (as are all the dishes). We would readily choose... More
