Description: Altho this restaurant is listed in Cancun, it actually is on the main road across from Half Moon Bay in Akumal, Mexico. It is newly opened and has excellent, inexpensive food. Gina, who runs the restaurant makes the best guacamole this side of Guadalajara & her pita rellenos are the best! She is open from 12 noon to 8 p.m. and also delivers! What more could you ask for! Enjoy this delicious menu without leaving the beach!

Gynn’AK Though the setting leaves a bit to be desired, the food at Gynn’AK is not to be missed! Everything was served fresh and, as we were the only diners, the service was excellent. I opted for the Lionfish fillet with Thai slaw: Much tastier than Grouper and the slaw was incredible. The Thai-fusion chicken with saffron rice was perfectly... More

Very small, outdoor cafe that serves mostly lionfish dishes. It is billed as a Thai-Mexican fusion restaurant and that hold true. We had four different dishes and all were amazing. From a lionfish filet to Thai lionfish tacos, it was unique, fresh, and very flavorful. The only thing we wished was different was that the restaurant was on the ocean... More

If this place were on the ocean side of the road instead of the jungle side, and if the owner would decorate it a little more to look like a restaurant, then this place would be a bigger hit. I loved the vegetarian pad thai. We went for lunch and really enjoyed the food. Will definitely go back!

This is an authentic local dining experience; the layout an ecclectic and comfy mix, seating is outdoors but in the shade, complete with the muy simpatico resident mutts who seems to enjoy fish at least as much as the patrons. :-p The lion-fish is very tasty ( we had the cheviche and the fillet), and you are doing a good... Our plan was to check this out while in Akumal. Mid-day stop and not overly hungry. Ordered a couple of pacifico's and the lion fish fillet. Beers were served in plastic glasses. Prefer my beer served straight up in the bottle. The fillet had been done in panko and had a green sauce over it. Jasmine rice with sesame seeds... More

As we were staying right across the street from Gynn'Ak, we thought we'd give it a try. The menu looked intriguing, yet chancy. Unfortunately, our choice to have dinner didn't pay off - at least as far as the meal is concerned. Let me preface my comments by noting that the night we dined there, Gynn, the owner and chef,... Been going to Gynn'AK for a few years now and consistently the best tasting in Akumal. The Lion Fish filet or tacos are both fabulous. If you are looking for something that has more of a fusion taste and something unique and spicy (I don't mean hot spicy) this is the place. The prices are very reasonable, in fact a... More

Was so close to our condo, we should have eaten there more. It is about 1/2 way down Half Moon Bay. Right on the side of the quiet (main) street, under an awning, beside her house. Typically Yucatan!! We stopped and noticed all the Lion Fish logos, and read the article there on the takeover of the reef of this... More

Fish tacos and fish and chips! Tastiest food I've had in the riviera maya. Order your own plate! Too good to share!
