Economical and delicious.

Went for breakfast. Easily the best flavor and authenticity for your money. Quick service and delicious food. Good proportions. We had the chilaquiles Rojos and the desayuno mexicano ; both great. The fresh agua de Sandia (watermelon water) was amazing and half the price of the "comal de akumal".

Delicious homemade food! The chicken enchiladas with mole sauce was one of the best things I ate on my vacation. My husband had the chicken quesidillas, and loved them..especially with the salsa. Not a fancy place...just a lunch counter. But it is definitely a "must visit" place if you want authentic Mexican food. Prices were very reasonable..we both ate lunch... More

The food here is decent, not great, but simple and good. The people are friendly, I love sitting at the counter and grabbing a quick bite. The prices have definitely gone up over the years, but so has the selection. I really hope they keep it simple. The area is growing so fast, I'd hate to see this place change.

Homemade delicious food. You're right out on the street, where you watch the beautiful throngs of people milling back and forth from the beach. Tacos, magnificent, great tasting meat, guacamole, yes! Burritos, yes. Yucatan Style pork plate, the BEST! The Yucatan is basically a stir fry with high quality meat and tortillas. Ok, a big bottle of delicious Mexican Coke,... More

We came back from diving and we were hungry, we stopped here to eat. Considering that the day before, we got fish tacos in Tulum for 85 pesos and they were fabulous i would not bother with this loncheria. The mole was awful very sweet, a lot of sugar in it. the quesadillas were ok. not much to write home... More

Real Mexican homemade! We diner here both for brunch and dinner. Great service, quick, and the food was excellent if you like real Mexican. We had the mole enchiladas and chilaquillas, couldn't get enough of them. Also the chips and Pico de Gallo are excellent-meant to go back and buy just some Pico for morning eggs, etc at our condo.... We stopped here during a walk through of Akumal from our condo as we were hungry and this place looked popular. Ordered regular Mexican food like quesidillas and tacos. Everything seemed very clean and food was tasty. The waitress was friendly and helpful. The seating is outdoors, around a small U-shaped counter. Nothing exceptional, but an ok place to stop... Fresh cooked breakfast and lunch fare at very reasonable prices. Menu on the wall is in Spanish and English, so don't be afraid to stop and experience some simple Mexican/American food.

We've stopped there many times over the years. The food is simple and straight forward...but always very good. It's a great alternative to some of the other busier places in Akumal. You won't regret it.
