On Our Top Two List in Akumal

We are at a crossroads for number one restaurant in Akumal. Is it this one, Turtle Bay Bakery, and Cafe or the La Buana Vida Restaurant that is a bit further away and we had to drive to from Hotel Akumal Caribe. Right now because we walk to it most every evening we have gone to most often. Our... read more

Don't wait until the end of your trip. Go often & for all different meals. Wonderful authentic food, full bar, plus homemade bakery items & ice cream (salted caramel is a must)! Very small gift shop w/ lots if glassware. It's farther back behind 2 other restaurants. Make sure you find the right one. Not quiet/romantic but great. Good for... More

The six of us stopped in for supper. The blackened fish, fish taco and pizzas were found to be delicious. The pizzas were large enough for two people. Our meals cost between $10 and $20. Beers cost $3.00. We were able to communicate with our server with our limited English.

While here in Akumal, out group of 6 has made it our business to find the best fish tacos. Hands down this charming spot wins the prize. Thus, we order their fish tacos daily for lunch. Add their amazing and large portions of guacamole and you can't find a better meal.

We had a great breakfast here. Owner is great and made it a point to make his rounds. Had a cheeseburger here that was hands down the best EVER.

Quiet restaurant, good food, friendly wait-staff. We are vegetarians, so somewhat limited in choices - but the food's always good

Stopped in to get breakfast pastries which were great as well as bread. They sold us a sliced loaf of "integral" bread which was their whole wheat....great for toasting and grilling. Excellent homemade ice cream by Lucy at same location.
