Lives up to the hype!

Had a fabulous lunch here earlier this week. I had an ahi tuna salad and my wife had coconut shrimp mandarin salad. Both dishes were spectacular (my tuna was REALLY good). Moreover, the ambiance was excellent, and they really take care of the customers by having both ceiling fans and floor fans... read more

Stayed in upper Akumal and hit the Turtle Bay Cafe twice, once for dinner and once for breakfast. Both times we had pretty good service and good food. This is definitely a tourist-centered place with less of a local vibe and more of a big chain type of feel. But given they are right across from Akumal Beach and Akumal... More

Admittedly not what you are necessarily looking for in Mexico. My carnivorous son is currently trying to find the Best Burgers of the Riviera Maya. He is all about the basics: burger, cheese, bacon, ketchup, bun. That's it. He really loved this one. Vegetarian daughter enjoyed her lentil burger, and omnivorous husband was a fan of the guacamole & jalapeño... More

The food here is really yummy! I enjoyed the smoothies and they were helpful and accommodating to my food allergy, and made a smoothie for me without banana. The atmosphere was fun and laid back.

Really nice place -- good for foodies! Outdoor patio easily accommodated your group of 11, and the food was overall interesting and well-prepared. The ice cream is incredible!

Great place for breakfast. Outdoor seating, great selection, and Incredible Fruit Smoothies! They have a great selection of ice cream as well. Great place day or night to relax and have a bite to eat.

We had the coconut shrimp and the tortillas soup. Both delicious. You get 4 very large juicy succulent shrimp with sweet chili dipping sauce and the tortillas soup was fresh and flavourful with fresh avacados. The decor is bright and colourful with fans to cool you off. It is a bit pricier. $40 canadian for 2 appies and 2 beers... More

Great breakfast, service is just OK. Definitely try the banana pancakes, the eggs, the potatoes, or really anything... everything tasted really good. The smoothies are also excellent too.

This little cafe is great for a cafe latte or snack. They have an amazing array of ice cream! We didn't have breakfast there but have heard they have a good one.

We stop by after swimming with turtles. Food was so good, especially lamb burger!! The portion was large, which is a big plus too. We also had ice cream that was heavenly. We will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Akumal.
