If you could eat the view, La Lunita would be "6-stars." Alas, the view is absolutely spectacular and the food is really decent. The shining element on the menu is the guacamole - just the right amount of salt, lime and onion/garlic, truly perfection. The margaritas are also very good. We went after a long day of snorkeling and visiting... More

We stumbled upon this place after snorkeling in half moon bay. The view alone is worth the trip, but the food was also incredible. Best shrimp tacos I have ever had. The mahi was cooked perfectly. I could have spent my entire vacation looking at the view and sipping on their delicious ginger mojitos. Best meal of our trip.

We stopped in here for lunch after a nice little snorkeling excursion at the nearby Akumal beach. It's a 5-10 minute drive from the beach so not really a place you'd want to walk to after a day at the beach. The restaurant has an incredibly beautiful setting right on the edge of very quiet beach. The view really was... More

We stayed just down the beach recently and enjoyed a really gorgeous night of dining on the beach at La Lunita. There really strive to be the best service in the area, and it showed. Service was absolutely outstanding, best in Akumal by a long margin. Very yummy breads brought out before your meal by the way, and the best... More

We loved the indoor/outdoor setting (right on the water) drinks and the food. The specials are terrific and the seafood dishes are best. However, the beginning of the service was terrific, but it was often slow and disorganized at the end. But it was our favorite spot for a romantic dinner.

We enjoyed lunch at La Lunita while on a excursion. This little restaurant is located on Half Moon Bay in Akumal, away from the crowds of the main beach. We started with Tortilla soup and ceviche. The soup was very good but the Ceviche was exceptional, very tasty. The shrimp tacos were good but could have been better with a... More

Our group of 9 had a lovely table in a quiet area of the outdoor dining area. We could hear the waves on the shore while we dined. The food was excellent - we went on paella night. Several of us had seafood other than paella. In general we all enjoyed what we ordered. The soups were excellent.

Quiet, beautiful spot right on the beach, with great food and friendly staff. Um, do you need anything else really? I started with the ceviche, my daughter had the chips and guacamole. Both very good. I had a tamarind margarita to drinks which was excellent. We both enjoyed the shrimp tacos as our main course, and then had ice cream... More

No booming music and an almost deserted beach. We had a lunch of duck tacos, lamb burger, and a bucket of shrimp. My friends raved about the lightly battered, deep fried, whole shrimp in their shell. They said it was like eating soft shell crab. Lunch starts at 1 pm and there is parking.

We enjoyed our meal at La Lunita. Prices were reasonable and food was really delicious and artfully presented. I probably should have requested that my fish dish be prepared more spicey as I think it was toned down a bit for the American palate. The atmosphere was relaxed. A very nice place to go for a peaceful meal in a... More
