Great food

La Lunita was pricier than we could do on a regular basis but it was great for a special night out. The food and atmosphere are wonderful. We had our Valentine's Day dinner there and it was perfect.

Our party of 6 made reservations in advance and had a lovely seaside table. We had yummy calamari as the appetizer. 5 out of 6 of us ordered the special fish of the day which was sea bass with garlic. The fish was overcooked with a small spoonful of what tasted like garlic from a jar on the top. Needless... More

We visited La Lunita one afternoon and enjoyed our meal tremendously. I would highly recommend the calamari, fish salsa with chips, margaritas and especially the coconut ice cream. The ice cream rates as one of the best I've ever eaten. The location is fabulous and the beach is beautiful. It's awesome to take a quick stroll on the beach while... More

If you must go, then go for the view, not the food. The view is great but the food is poorly prepared, flavorless and way overpriced.

This a very nice restaurant with very good service and a quiet sophisticated setting for mexican food. The food ranges from very good to O.K. We ate there twice with friends because of the setting and style. The coconut shrimp was a winner' the barbecued ribs so and so. One fish dish of the day fine, one off the reugular... More

Pleasantly surprised to find this gem for a delightful Valentines dinner. Lovely table in the sand with the sounds of the light ocean waves and perfect romantic lightning. Special menu was amazing from the special drink complete with heart-shaped strawberry garnish, fab risotto, great lobster prep, and super unique and delicious dessert plate! Thank you to the chef and staff... More

I had the pleasure of dining with friends for both lunch and dinner at La Lunita. Both meals were exceptional and delicious. The presentation to the eye is as equally as pleasing to the palate. For lunch, apprentice Chef Paul Trujillo presented the most beauififul passion fruit ceviche. The flavor was so delicious and fresh. During dinner, I ordered a... More

Another beachfront restaurant where you can dine with your feet in the sand! We came here for paella Saturday and the next weekend for lobster Friday. Everything was good, but the lobster was amazing!! Fresh lobster, a lot of meat on the plate, great taste! The strawberry daiquiri was good, with a lot of lime, but the lime didn't work... More

The previous reviews are pretty much spot on, but I'll add my 2 cents. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but then again the quality of the food is about as good as you will find in Akumal. I had the tuna tostadas for lunch and the meat just melted in my mouth. I've had the same experience with their seafood... More

Tucked away at the north end of Half Moon Bay, La Lunita (The Little Moon) can be reached by a nice romantic stroll along the beach at sunset! (Of course you can take the main road too). The menu is extensive (with a continental gourmand flair) and elegant, as is the beach-chic atmosphere and wine list. We have eaten both... More
