We stayed in Akumal for a week right on the beach. Lunitas was recommended and the best of the area restaurants that we found. Great seafood of course and generally delicate Mexican cooking. The environment was a classier than other places, cleaner, less crowded and a better view.

We had eaten here a few times last year and enjoyed our meals and the wonderful service so we were looking forward to eating here again this year several times during our two week stay in Akumal. We first dined here on Friday- lobster night- where we were assured the lobster was a just caught local variety. Sadly it was... More

I am afraid I cannot join in the praise for this restaurant that it has received in the other Trip Advisor reviews. It purports to be a fine dining restaurant, and it is certainly by far the most expensive restaurant we went to in the Akumal area. This may sound like cultural imperialism, but I assume that you have to... More

I met a few friends who were staying in Akumel for dinner and we decided to check this place out since we really wanted to eat on the beach. The service was not so great (e.g. no serving utensils, not taking away dirty plates) but the view was wonderful. They serve breakfast and dinner all day so if nothing looks... More

We are well-traveled folks (worldwide), and dined here several times over the holidays. Ernesto and the team of servers work very, very hard and always provided great service; even during an extremely busy Christmas dinner. We thought this the best place in Akumal for the beachfront atmosphere, and IF you got a good meal. Some were great, some awful. We... More

Our party of 8 had lunch here as part of an all day tour. The restaurant is literally on the sand on the patio of a cute and extremely clean hotel along one of the nicest beaches in the Riviera Maya. It is a very tranquil location in the northern part of Akumal, away from the crowds. Lunch was served... More

Attentive, timely friendly service on busy night that could have been the opposite. The three of us had the best meals of the entire trip. Ordered from the regular menu, and we felt the prices were more than fair for the quality we received. Lovely setting. Highly recommended.

I really liked this place but was a tiny bit mixed about too. Firstly its an intimate lovely location; I had dinner there Christmas Day with my 2 grown kids. I loved that when we requested vegan for my daughter that they had a special vegan menu ready:) If food is super special I don't mind paying extra. I would... More

We had reserved a nice table on the beach for my girlfriend's 30th birthday, and were able to enjoy the three-course Christmas Eve dinner special, that was so delicious! (The garlic coconut cream soup was my favorite!) Can't say much about their normal menu, but the food we had was delicious! La Lunita is one of the more expensive restaurants... More

La Lunita is a nice restaurant in a beautiful setting on Half-Moon Bay. My wife and I had dinner there on a balmy, clear night and enjoyed sitting outside among the palms and watching the full moon rise over the bay. The food is sparse for vegetarians, but the salads and sweet potato fries we had were excellent! The food... More
