My wife and I ate at this place 2 nights in a row. Let's be honest - it's not a 5 star restaurant and does not pretend to be, but the portions are large and the prices are right. Food (especially the fish) is yummy and fresh, right out of the sea. There are nice tables outside and you can... More

Stopped for lunch after snorkeling in the morning. Pretty good lime soup. Lots of chicken and achiote (I think - which is unusual). Decent service.

Outdoorish setting like most in the area but found the food to be a notch better, matched with good service. Live local band provided musical entertainment and song. All four of us enjoyed our meals, mostly seafood entrees. Don't pass this one up....sure to please!

Service was non existent. Two of our party went to the restroom when we arrived so I asked the waiter to come back. He never did, and we won't be coming back either. We waited 20 minutes, got up and went next door to turtle bay bakery and cafe which was fantastic!

La Cueva del Pescador is just a few steps from the beach, but you can't see the sea. Too bad, because it would a perfect waterfront beer-and-shrimp joint if it had a view. Still, it's a pleasant spot for post-snorkeling refreshments. It is located in the little warren of eateries next to the parking lot on your left as you... More

La Cueva is by far my favorite spot in Akumal. Whether for a full on meal, a snack or just a cocktail Cueva can't be beat. They are famous for their margaritas, but you gotta try one of their coco locos. They are the best I've ever had. Creamy and frothy and yummy. Have one with their shrimp salad in... More

Of all the places we ate in Akumal, I think La Cueva had the best Margarita's! if you like Margarita's you have to at least stop for a drink, you will love them! The food is delicious also!

La Cueva is an amazing place, staff is incredibly friendly, they serve quite quickly and the menu is delicious. Seafood is fresh and they have the best Ceviche Ive ever tried in Mexico. Good drinks, unique place, good value. First place I visit whenever Im back in the Riviera.

Whether you are eating off the menu or went fishing and are having them prepare it this is a great seafood restaurant. But what we love the best is Carlito... he is so funny!!! Make sure you order a margarita too they are very good.

Although this was an all inclusive package deal, We found that the quantity of the a-la-cart menu was satisfactory to choose from and the quality was excellent. The greatest surprise was that they had a Buffet with numerous appetizers and Desserts, something all the other Restaurants in the Resort did not. The service was excellent and my wife and I...
