Restaurant was clean with a nice atmosphere, but we weren't overly impressed with the food. Three in our party ordered the chicken fajitas, which were ok, not great. One ordered the shrimp salad, that was actually pretty good. One ordered the chicken fingers that were dry and tasteless. Lastly, I ordered the seafood stuffed fish filet that was downright awful... The food was pretty good, service was good and a lot of fun. Had the grouper and it was outstanding. A bit pricey, but then you have to consider where you are. It gets crowded at supper time, so get there a little early.

Been here many many time, everything I've eaten has been delicious and served with a smile. The chicken club with apple slaw is a lunchtime staple, as is the sopa de limon. Fresh fish is to die for. Highly recommend!

Sand floors, wood tables and cold beer. Great place for the fisherman to drop off your catch and have them prepare for you. Grilled, ceviche, fried, however you want it. Personal favorite is the baby lobster.

We have eaten there twice this trip- one meal right after arriving in Akumal and once after a fishing trip booked with the restaurant we caught a King Mackerel and a Barracuda with Ali - an excellent fisherman from the restaurant. Both meals were excellent- no one can cook fish like the chef at La Cueva del Pescador. Fishing with... More

Cueva del pescador advertises "a you hook it, we cook it" policy on the menu. After a great day of fishing my girlfriend and I caught about an 8 pound barracuda and a 20 pound wahoo. As wahoo is a great tasting prize catch we decided to just have some wahoo at the restaurant and pick up a small filet... More

I was out in Akumal early July with some friends. After a long day of Cenote swimming we decided to pop by. Ive been here before and was happy to recomended to my friends. The restaurant is lovely very pescador style. Our feet were on the sand, and this makes it so relaxing. The wodden table, the decor, we ordered... More

This was our favorite restaurant during our recent trip to Akumal. The food was very good, the prices very reasonable, and the service was excellent. The meals came with complimentary chips and salsa. The margaritas by the pitcher ($200 pesos) were very good and strong. The mixed ceviche (large portion for $200 pesos) was the best that we have ever... More

They have the best Lime Soup here I have ever tried. I'm a foodie, I've had it a number of times and tried to make it myself as good as they do. Can't do it. Margaritas are also good (and strong). I've also had grouper, shrimp, and chicken fajitas (which are traditional, no sizzle plate). All good. Don't make eye... More
