Had fish tacos and they deep fried the grouper and they deep fried the shrimp on the shrimp tacos...good location but just average food

After spending the morning at Hekab Be Bibliotecca and snorkeling at the Akumal Beach we were looking for some authentic Mexican Seafood Dishes. Our friends dined here last year and said this was wonderful place. There were 7 in our group and we were easily accommodated. The waiter took our drink orders and soon brought out a wonderful dish of... More

after spending a beautiful day in akumal watching the turtles, this is the perfect ending, having the langoustines and other seafood, accompanied with a Margarita pitcher .

We have been going to La Cueva del Pescador for years, and a few of the visits have been less than spectacular due to iffy service. On our most recent trip, however, we ate at La Cueva two times and it was wonderful in every way. The Margaritas are still the strongest I've ever had in Mexico...be warned. :). Appetizers... More

Restaurant was clean with a nice atmosphere, but we weren't overly impressed with the food. Three in our party ordered the chicken fajitas, which were ok, not great. One ordered the shrimp salad, that was actually pretty good. One ordered the chicken fingers that were dry and tasteless. Lastly, I ordered the seafood stuffed fish filet that was downright awful... The food was pretty good, service was good and a lot of fun. Had the grouper and it was outstanding. A bit pricey, but then you have to consider where you are. It gets crowded at supper time, so get there a little early.

Been here many many time, everything I've eaten has been delicious and served with a smile. The chicken club with apple slaw is a lunchtime staple, as is the sopa de limon. Fresh fish is to die for. Highly recommend!

Sand floors, wood tables and cold beer. Great place for the fisherman to drop off your catch and have them prepare for you. Grilled, ceviche, fried, however you want it. Personal favorite is the baby lobster.

We have eaten there twice this trip- one meal right after arriving in Akumal and once after a fishing trip booked with the restaurant we caught a King Mackerel and a Barracuda with Ali - an excellent fisherman from the restaurant. Both meals were excellent- no one can cook fish like the chef at La Cueva del Pescador. Fishing with... More

Cueva del pescador advertises "a you hook it, we cook it" policy on the menu. After a great day of fishing my girlfriend and I caught about an 8 pound barracuda and a 20 pound wahoo. As wahoo is a great tasting prize catch we decided to just have some wahoo at the restaurant and pick up a small filet... More
