Dirt floor delight. Inexpensive and yummy. Chalk board menu covers the days dishes, with a good variety of choices. Glad we stumbled into it.

Imeldas is a no-frills restaurant with superbly prepared food at very reasonable prices. Delicious is an understatement. We first ate there in 2010 and remembered it since now and were so glad to know Imelda is still in business and the food is still as delicious. It is a very simple place, but it cannot be beat for service, quality... More

This is a great place to eat, simple and yet delicious food. Fresh ingredients with a local flavor. Good service, if you go to akumal beach, this is definitively the place to eat.

We ate here before we went snorkeling. The food was great and the service was excellant. Wonderful people running the resturant. We will be back for sure.

We have eaten at Imelda's many times, for lunch. Food is simple but very good and plenty to fill you. It is a pleasure to eat here, always friendly always good people to talk with. Truly a gem. Highly recommend Imeldas for a good "local" meal. Will be back soon and see what is new.

We were a bit skeptical about trying any local restaurant because of stomach issues but we are so happy we made the decision to have lunch at Imelda's! Authentic food, large portions and good value. We would definitely go back.

Amidst the gentle bustle of touristy Akumal, tiny Imelda's tables and tiny kitchen nestles behind the Ecology center. My husband's favorite lunch spot, Imelda's always pleases with its Mayan "comfort food."

Imelda's is a small, basic restaurant but big on quality and value. Breakfast and lunch both were delicious.

We just had lunch here and really enjoyed it. It was simple and fresh. Chicken and fish perfectly cooked. Excellent service and reasonable prices.

We came across Imelda's as we went to the Akumal Dive Center. It's not well signposted from the road, so it's easy to miss. When we visited, the place was full - a very good sign. Food was simple and traditional, but well-prepared. Only downside was that they don't serve beer or wine, though you can bring these with you.... More
