Great food, great atmosphere

Quaint restaurant with a beautiful turtle mural, in the pueblo across hwy 307 from Akumal. We ordered the pork ribs--dry style with spices and sauce. Wonderful. Food and water is safe, of course. To me, this was the best food we had on our trip. We went there the last day during lunch and wish we had found it sooner! We ordered a lot of food but we wanted to try a variety. The Alfredo ceviche was amazing. Try it with all three- fish, shrimp and octopus. The guacamole and the chicken quesadillas... More

While staying in Akumal, we ate here several times. Each time was very enjoyable and the food was always delicious and so fresh! We had several nice visits with Alfredo and his staff (super friendly guy, but I forget his name). The seafood was so good and that is one of the reasons we will continue to visit when we... More

We went here for dinner on the recommendation of a fellow traveler, and were not disappointed! Alfredo, the owner, greeted us warmly, explained the various dishes (in excellent English or Spanish), and served us graciously throughout our delicious meal. As it was dusk, and the restaurant is "open air" (and I had stupidly neglected to apply insect repellant), the mosquitos... More

We had an excellent lunch at this restaurant in March. The food was absolutely delicious! The service was great. This is a wonderful place to visit for a meal and relax in Akumal Pueblo. We had been traveling for over two months when we visited here and this was one of the best restaurant meals we had on our entire... More

Highly overated and overpriced. Much better and even less expensive restaurants in Akumal. Our meal was ok but the meals we had at Turtle Bay were much better and less expensive. Not to sound elitist because I love local places but I'd skip the Pueblo altogether. I suspect someone is playing games with the ratings for this restaurant. ..noway does... More

We loved El Último Maya. The restaurant is clean with simple furnishings, located on the main street in el pueblo de Akumal which is across the highway from the beach. The owner, Alfredo, happily explained the menu and told us everything is made in-house from fresh ingredients. He was very friendly and accommodating. We ordered a large mixed ceviche as... More

Had lunch at this small restaurant in the Pueblo of Akumal (across the highway from the beach.) The owner/chef Alfredo was very friendly. The Seafood Taco (grilled fish and shrimp) special looked really good, and 4 of us ordered it. Alfredo apologized that the shrimp had not come in, but we all ordered it anyway. A minute later Alfredo came... More
