Fast, simple and awesome!

As soon as you sit down you're greeted with a platter of roasted peppers, radishes, lines and salsas. We tried all of the taco varieties with our favorites being the beef and the pork. Friendly, reasonably priced and delicious favors. The fish is grilled, not fried, a change from the typical... read more

Last year we were the only tourists there. Last night it was 100% tourists and the staff was buried. The food was ok, but not nearly as great as last year. Fun experience, solid service, but the food was a bit disappointing.

Cheap eats are what you get here. And unique, greasy stuffed potatoes that my kids and their cousins loved. Pure and simple. On picnic tables too. A very dysfunctional kitchen, screaming infants at a birthday party with drunk parents and a wonderful owner/waiter made this dinner good comedy. So many other highlights in Punta Mita, would skip this one unless... More

This was the surprise find of our trip. Make sure you walk Calle Pescadores which is where all the Mini Supers are, and they are cheaper too. On this road, almost at Ave Las Redes (street from circle that goes doen the hill to restaurant row) is Tacos y Papas. Tables spill out on to the street and it is... More

While in Punta de Mita for 10 days, we ate at Tacos Y Papas 3 times and enjoyed each meal a lot. The owner, Ricardo, is a super nice and friendly guy and they cook great food. It sounds odd to order a fully loaded baked potato in Mexico but it was the best baked potato I've ever had. The... More

What a joy to have wonderfully tasty Mexican fare away from the touristy, pricey beachfront alternatives in Punta de Mita.. Uniquely, Tacos y Papas offers the most delicious baked potato imaginable filled with vegetables and choice or mix of distinctly flavorful beef, pork or chicken.. Other very tasty options include beef, pork, chicken and fish tacos (recently added). .Finally, there... More

There are no menus at Tacos y Papas because there are only 2 things you can get. Tacos and papas(potatoes). Not just any potatoe but a massive bake potatoe cooked to perfection then sliced down the middle and stuff with a filling of your choice. We had one with veggies, beef, sour cream. It's a meal and it was fabulous.... More

The baked potato is to die for!! Each taco had a different flavor paring for toppings which was nice and the hospitality of the shop owner was great!
