If I were able to describe it with one word, it will be Cozy. The service and ambiance top notch. The food just delicious. A must stop after going to the pyramid of el Sol and la Luna

I have been at La Gruta on a Sunday break during a business trip while visiting Teotihuacán pyramids. The all set up is clearly (and obviously) for tourists, the Mexican food is on the average (even if overpriced) but the location is superb and often there are free live shows

This place is right next to Gate 5, with no signs; just ask locals for directions. Plenty of parking spaces, be prepared to wait to be seated as it is a popular restaurant; hostess was not rude, but not friendly either. Tortillas, guacamole, and queso were delicious; main dishes were warm and served on cold plates, not on hot skillets.... More

It took a while to find it, a 30 minute wait for a table, but we had a free show of regional dances and few tourists. Food is regional Mexican so order with care if you have a delicate stomach!! My local friends loved it and compared it to a cenote rather than a cave.... As most things in Mexico... More

I have dined here twice, most recently over the 2014 Holiday season. I have always enjoyed eating here. It is a cool experience to walk down into a cave to enjoy a meal. The food is good in my opinion. It isn't a gourmet meal that will blow you away, but it has always tasted good, and been decently authentic... More

The place itself is something unique, because it is located in a cave and you seat inside of it. There are many tables. The restaurant has a menu based in the local cuisine. Very good dishes. They just need to improve the service, A LOT! We ordered our food (drinks, starter and main dish) and they came back to ask... More

I have been in La Gruta three times. Not because the food is good or because it deserved a second visit, but because the scenario is very nice and unique. The first two times it was not that bad, however, the third was a disgrace. How awful that even having such a great location and view, the service, the food... More

The positive, the setting can't be beat. The wines were laid out on a table because you're in a natural cellar. The service was good, but it stops there. The food was made for the tourist. We were there in the off season, but I can see the tour busses rolling there. An example, the Flan. Very creamy, easy to... More

I loved Escamoles and Maguey's worm, was our first time but was really delicious, We loved the place is very amazing, music, design so natural. Great idea! I've to say our meals were not really tasty, our soups specially tortilla soup were tasteless. Seasoning isn't very good! You must guys work in your meals, it's a really nice place, don't... More

Beautiful, unique space. But food was bland and disappointing. The performers were good, although the ladies coukd have been more enthusiastic. They looked bored while performing their dances.
