A nice restaurant 20' from Patzcuaro

Campestre Aleman is a nice restaurant n the highway from Patzcuaro to Erongaricuaro in between the villages of Arocutin and Uricho...The setting by the lake is charming and the food is quite good. The specialty is smoked trout among other German and Mexican dishes.

It's a great experience to share, I don't know what's best; food, service or the place... The restaurant its near erongaricuaro and patzcuaro, they serve a vast variety of plates. I recommend to make a reservation if you visit on weekends or else you'll have to wait a lo g time to get a table. Chamorro al horno, trout with... More

This is a fine restaurant that unless recommended by another person , no one will know it exists. It is far away from town and access is tricky. Nice view of Isla de Janitzio however. You have missed the best entrée if you don't order the tasty trout that are raised in their own backyard.

Overall I was enamored by Rolf Gunter Hoppe's Bavarian vision, replete with whimsical foul littering the ponds, Germanic decoration and a menu longer than the Berlin wall. And as for the food... Bratwurst? Yes please. Sauerkraut? Don't mind if I do. Tepid, damp strudel served cream-less? No, I think I'll pass. Aside from the disappointing strudel, my dining companion and... More

This beautifully decorated restaurant is set amongst charming grounds with the tranquil waters of the ponds a little disturbed by greedy geese eager for a taste of Bavarian bread. The tasty traditional was food sehr gut, and the service wunderbar. Owner Rolf Gunter Hoppe could be seen scurrying around the lower trout ponds, nattering to his aquatic friends, but unfortunately... More

It's in a sort of a "Swiss-German" chalet where the specialty is trout. The menu is limites. The so called german cuisine is mediocre. Michoacan has lots to offer and it's cuisine is varied. This place is ok to break the routine but not much more.

Campestre Aleman is also a trout farm so that's what I always order. Filleted and covered with garlic. PERFECT. However, my brother lived in Germany for many years and says their German dishes are as good as anywhere there. Their sausage and sauerkraut is delicious. Beautiful setting!

If you want to go to a restaurant wich serves German food: Don't go there! The restaurant itsef is hard to find. We went by car to several directions outside of Pascauro up to km 14 (this is the only information we found on TripAdvisor!). You have to drive from Patzcuaro around the lake passing Huecorio, San Pedro, Tócuaro, Arocutin,... More

The restaurant is 15 minutes driving from Patzcuaro, Mich, Mexico. The food is excellent, you may have fish (trout) or steaks. It has some german food, too. Besides the good food, the restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere, with a small pond and trees, perfect for walking after eating and sitting to relax. It is not expensive, around 12-16 dollars for... Once again, we were driving from Guadalajara to Patzcuaro and stopped for comida about 2pm. We were the only guests and our order arrived promptly and was exactly as we expected. Trout cooked in butter and pork shank perfectly prepared. The grounds continue to be well kept and they had made some improvements in the eating areas. A great and... More
