This nice restaurant just keeps getting better, in a new location across the street from its previous location of three years. Now there's a more formal dining area to the left of the entrance, and a very inviting cantina to the right of the entrance. We had an early afternoon lunch outside on the expansive patio beyond the dining room... More

Dear Mike, Thank you for comparing us to the upscale restaurants in Guadalajara. As you should know we do not serve low class wine by the glass. What is wrong with 55 pesos for a good poor of good wine? Doug More

We visited La Una at its recently opened new location and were even more impressed than before. Doug and Susanna have transformed their establishment into an impressive, classy, yet warm atmosphere. As always, the food was delicious--fresh and ample and the crème brule' rich and just sweet enough. There is now a new bar with a fireplace and cozy ambience... More

My partner and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at La Una in what is apparently their new location. The ambiance was lovely, service wonderful and the food scrumptious. As a previous reviewer said, the beef carpaccio was superb as were the tapas. We both look forward to our next visit to Ajijic and will be heading straight to... More

Went to their new location...right across the street from the old one....but what a difference a few feet can make! The old location was cute and cozy. This new space is large, lovely and offers a bar area, a spacious outdoor patio, and a couple of fireplaces for cool nights. We enjoyed drinks (margaritas, vino, tequila and a bourbon) and... More

Everything, food service was good EXCEPT,they really overcharged us for a bottle of wine which we found in the local supermarket at one third the price.Pity for them we'll never go back there.

It was the second time I've eaten here & was, again, disappointed. Service was lacklustre & disinterested, my salad was OK, but dirty tables around us & staff not working doesn't feel comfortable. I understand they're relocating to premises across the street next week, yet the manager, who served us, said nothing! Won't be rushing back!

The menu has sufficient variety and the prices are reasonable. The service was good. Although the food was well prepared, it had no "zip" to it that you expect with Mexican breakfasts. I suspect this is because there are so many American and Canadian customers. The restaurant is okay for breakfast but nothing special.

Dear Weerobbie, Thanks for taking the time to review our restaurante. You are right! We do have so many Americans and Canadians such as yourself. This is why we serve so many typical northern dishes. Many northerners cannot take the heat. However, if you do desire that burning sensation, we can provide. Just be a little more daring in your... More

This was our first visit to La Una and It will not be our last. Upon entering this little unassuming restaurant, I was delighted to see a small courtyard in the back providing outdoor seating in a lovely little intimate garden. White tablecloths and cloth napkins made for an elegant setting. The menu is very diverse. A variety of tapas... More

Thank you for your kind words and wonderful description. We have recently moved across the street to and old house that we renovated and at the first of the year we will have the opportunity of working with Executive Chef Miguel Angel Alvarez. I promise that if you return, you will be pleasantly surprised. Douglas More
