Ajijic Tango is consistently good. The steaks are the highlight of the restaurant. Try a steak called flapsteak. Most always tender and good value for the quality and size.. The restaurant offers a special lunch week days from 12:30 to 1:30 at very low prices. Avoid Sat and Sunday if possible. It fills up very quickly with our guests from... More

I went with friends there is a varied menu. Most people go for the steak. I had steak medium it wasn't the best I have had but it was very tasty. You get quite a lot of vegetables. We had a table near the door which was excellent further in I can imagine you can get very hot. The staff... More

Was in Ajijic in January 2014 for two weeks, and this was our favorite restaurant. Great Mexican ambiance, very good food, reasonable price, and staff that made the whole experience "fun". We had lunch one of our first days in the area, and it set the standard quite high. Went back again later for dinner and it was also excellent.... More

Whenever we visit my brother-in-law and friends who live in the area, we always make sure to schedule dinner at Tango during our stay. The food and service are always first-rate and the cost is more than reasonable for the quality. We started with their ample and tasty margaritas (approx. $3.25 at the current exchange rate) plus and Absolut martini... More

When we have put of town guest, this is the first and last place we bring them to. Food and service is always consistent, always good. Never a bad meal. I think this by far is my favorite restaurant both north and south of the boarder.

I had to keep myself from returning here every single day, despite so many other divine restaurants in Ajijic. But now that Secret Garden on Hidalgo (the health food spot, my old favorite haunt) is sadly gone, who knew that the local gorgeous Steakhouse would become the best place in town for creative, DELICOUS veggies of every variety...plus impeccable service?... It was my birthday today and I just wanted to go out for a nice lunch with my husband and friends. I picked Tango because it is reliable and good. We hadn't been there in a while because we have traveled around Mexico by car a lot this winter. I had forgotten how charming the restaurant is, how good is... More

This place is well known for huge cuts of meat. True you get a 400 gram steak, but by the time you clean off the fat you end up with a 200 gram steak you'd get anywhere else for the same price. Great empanadas, but in general generic food and for that they are consistent, nothing special. We stopped going... More

Very busy and noisy but worth it as the meal was the best I've had in a while. I had the most amazing watercress salad and then the steak, and the salad was a meal in itself. Reservations a must. Service is quick and a little rushed, I got the wrong dish at first but it was quickly rectified. Not... More

This excellent restaurant is well-known for its 26 ounce filet mignon--an easy dinner to split at a reasonable price. Steaks are prime cut and imported from the United States. Ajijic Tango grills them to perfection and serves them with wonderful sides such as steamed vegetables and a choice of potatoes. If you like your steaks rare, be sure to ask... More
