I found this place when looking for things to do and unusual places to visit as we did a road trip in Eastern Canada. What a brilliant night! We booked in advance from the UK ... No deposit asked for. We turned up In driving rain on a Thursday night and thought it might be quiet .... How wrong we... More

We were there with a tourism group and had so much fun. The tour was entertaining, the food cooked to perfection and the entertainment brought down the house. Definitely something everyone should experience at least once in their lives!

A superb rib steak is one of life's greatest pleasures, most certainly my favourite steakhouse meal and the only real way to judge a steakhouse. Moishes, Queue de Cheval, Morton's, Ruth Chris and countless others come to mind. On Saturday nite, being all alone in La Malbaie I drove over to Bootlegger to see how they stack up against the... I was part of a group that visited the Bootlegger for supper. What an amazing experience. The tour of its charming past was very interesting. The meal, steak or Ribs and chicken was very tasty. The night concluded with an excellent band that played 70's and 80"s music with passion and energy. Our group had a very memorable night- a... More

I came here as part of a group and I have to say that the evening was very enjoyable. From the greeting at the door, the entertainment starts. The doorman gives a super tour explaining the history of the place and takes you through secret passages and false doors. The food is good at the restaurant, service is friendly, you... More

A strange place to end up for lunch on a Sunday in mid-October! But what a great history. It took us a bit to find the actual entrance to the restaurant...we came in through a door that took us down a very narrow, winding staircase that turned a sharp corner and then continued up into the loft through a trap... In our wonderful stay in the Charlevoix region, a endoirt where visits are announced at different times of the day, where no mention of call before is displayed somewhere, we went there for dinner and make a visit earlier in the afternoon. We were greeted with a smile and we have to say that for the day, with priority given... More

Either (Linda) thé waitress mixed up thé orders or cook didnt know what medium rare meant, one of our party had her food returned two times and ended up not eating at all. 48$ for a 7 oz filet is quite steep for the lousy service

We did read your comment about the "shooters" issue and had a few meetings with our staff... thanx for bringing that to our attention. We have to keep in mind that the Bootlegger's House is a festive place and that some evenings are a little bit more "groovy"! We try to stay "straight" but we have to be part of... More
