The restaurant is in a house dating back to 1900 which has a lovely atmosphere. The staff and service were great. Never felt rushed. The food was wonderful. We wished we had tried it sooner. Make your reservations when or before you arrive in the area.

Tucked in a row of period cottages this small, intimate restaurant exuded charm and character. The food and service were excellent. A varied menu and decent wine list. The sort of place you plan to come back to and hope it's as good the second time.

The evening was excellent on all categories.....service, flavour, presentation and ambiance. Reservations are necessary as it is a small intimate place. The restaurant is in the chef's home. I started with the baked Brie. It exceeded my expectations. The portion was large enough that the other 3 guests had a taste and all agreed it was fabulous. My main course... More

We made our reservation months ago knowing that we wanted to be sure to try this highly rated restaurant. Glad we did as it was sold out for the evening and we saw many walk-ins being turned away at the door. The location is very special - a small house along the water with no more than 8 or 9... More

Intimate restaurant with a feeling of family. Good food, especially salmon enjoyed by the party the most. Foie gras also good. Friendly waitstaff. But only one chef and waiter for 24 people so we waited 1.5 hours for our main course. And in general a bit of a tendency to sweet in the dishes which we did not always love.... More

We discovered this small quiant restaurant about three-four years ago during our annual visits to the Charlevoix region. We've returned every year since (and twice one year). Simon is great, explaining the dishes, helping with the wine selection and speaking both fluent French and English, which absolutely helps. Chef Michel continues to make the most appealing and tasty dishes. We've... More

A unplanned trip down a small street in La Malbaie brought us face to face with the chef of Le Patriarche. We were looking for a place to have a snack and wound up booking the last table for dinner at this 22 seat establishment with one seating per evening. Back at the Manoir Richelieu where we were staying I... More

Based on the great reviews, we made reservations a month in advance and went here on our last night in Malbaie. We were not disappointed; the food was the best we had while in town; the service was perfect and the Table de Hote was great.

The food was more expensive than other places reviewed but on the positive only has 10 tables so it is hard to get a booking and is more intimate. It was still a pleasant experience and an enjoyable evening.
