After discovering this palce last year, we couldn't wait to return, and not only did we return, we ate here twice during our week here. Simon is an excellent waiter and speaks very good English, which makes ordering a pleasure. His knowledge of the menu and his willingness to make suggestions was outstanding. Both meals were tremendous and all the... More

During dinner our first night at the Fairmont Manoir Richelieu, I asked our waiter (who was very passionate and knowledgeable about food and wine) where we should go for dinner and he very quickly said Le Patriarche! Fortunately, the comcierge was able to get us a reservation at this tiny little restaurant on right on the banks of the St... More

This is a tiny, but amazing restaurant: lovely, intimate, well decorated, with an appropriatly chosen, unintrusive musical background. The food is to die for. The brie fondant was simply amazing! My pastas were very good. My husband really enjoyed his couscous. All dishes featured local ingredients and were perfectly balanced. Expect generous portions. The service was friendly and attentive. If you ever are in La Malbaie Quebec, I would highly recommend reservations and dinner at Le Patriache.. Its a charming riverside restaurant in a historic old home.. The restaurant is small but very cozy.. The chef truly loves creating beautiful dishes.. I enjoyed the duck leg confit with wild boar sausage, on a bed of sauerkraut..It was spectacular.. The... Make sure to book ahead since this restaurant is tiny, but very special. Simon, the waiter, is helpful, elegant, and professional. He will answer your questions thoroughly (in either English or French) and will recommend a dish if you are looking for help. Simon recommended the crème brulee appetizer and we all came back the next night to experience it... More

Everything was perfect. The waiter was professional and friendly. He was also very efficient. The food was excellent. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the meal. It cost us $165 for two (starter, main course, dessert, a bottle of wine, coffee and tea, and taxes (15%). There are only about 10 tables so make sure you reserve... More

While we visit the reign every year, we normally limited our dinners to Baie-Saint-Paul. However, we do try to find somewhere new every year. This year we decided we'd venture into La Malbaie. Based. On Tripadvisor reviews, we chose Le Patriarche. The reviews were correct, this place rocks. I'm not sure there is anyone besides the server and the chef... More

The setting is very charming, old house full of character. Service is good, but lack personality. All dishes have the same side vegetables... Prices are high, but still manageable. All in all, still one of the best places to have a meal in la Malbaie.
