The evening was excellent on all categories.....service, flavour, presentation and ambiance. Reservations are necessary as it is a small intimate place. The restaurant is in the chef's home. We made our reservation months ago knowing that we wanted to be sure to try this highly rated restaurant. Glad we did as it was sold out for the evening and we saw many walk-ins being turned away at the door. The location is very special - a small house along the water with no more than 8 or 9... More

Intimate restaurant with a feeling of family. Good food, especially salmon enjoyed by the party the most. Foie gras also good. Friendly waitstaff. But only one chef and waiter for 24 people so we waited 1.5 hours for our main course. And in general a bit of a tendency to sweet in the dishes which we did not always love.... More

We discovered this small quiant restaurant about three-four years ago during our annual visits to the Charlevoix region. We've returned every year since (and twice one year). Simon is great, explaining the dishes, helping with the wine selection and speaking both fluent French and English, which absolutely helps. Chef Michel continues to make the most appealing and tasty dishes. We've... More

A unplanned trip down a small street in La Malbaie brought us face to face with the chef of Le Patriarche. We were looking for a place to have a snack and wound up booking the last table for dinner at this 22 seat establishment with one seating per evening. Back at the Manoir Richelieu where we were staying I... More

Based on the great reviews, we made reservations a month in advance and went here on our last night in Malbaie. We were not disappointed; the food was the best we had while in town; the service was perfect and the Table de Hote was great.

The food was more expensive than other places reviewed but on the positive only has 10 tables so it is hard to get a booking and is more intimate. It was still a pleasant experience and an enjoyable evening.

I was in La Malbaie a year and a half ago, and in search of a good restaurant, famished after a full day of hiking. I showed up here spontaneously, asking if they had any tables left for the evening (though being realistic and without high expectations, as I didn't place a reservation beforehand, and knew it would be serendipity... We have been coming to La Malbaie for quite a number of years. We are "Foodies" and do not think twice in paying the price for gastronomical meal experience. When it tastes Heavenly the cost is totally irrelevant. We reserved a table for six. The apetisers were good , although my ceviche was very bland and tasteless. My husband had... More

The food was very good and tasty. The waiter was very nice and helpful. Since it was a sunday we had the place all for ourselves but in the busy summer months, friday and saturday are always full, so you need to make a reservation first. We had a table with a view of the river which was appreciated. I... More
