a gem in the Eastern Townships (4 and 1/2 stars)

We knew we would be spending the day at the nearby Bolton Spa and wanted to find a good restaurant in the area. Unfortunately Owl's Bread is no longer open in the evening, so we found this place in the Guide Voir. Coincidentally, it was positively reviewed in La Presse the very day we went. So... read more

Food was just ok, portions are small and food is ordinary and expensive. The decor is nice but nothing to call home about. The ambiance is average as well. Don't know if I will return.

We loved this restaurant the first time, so we returned on Valentine's Day, which is usually the day when restaurants are at their best. The food was as creative as the 1st time though the halibut was overcooked & the risotto did not have much flavour. The entrees were magnificent. No restaurant is perfect every time, but what really ruined... More

I rarely give 3/5. I do not understand the unanimously positive reviews for this restaurant. The food was very good for the person with me and ''nothing more'' in my case. The terrace had a proper atmosphere... Service was poor and waitresses were rather inexperienced. No explanation of the dishes received .. Since I had chosen the ''chef's surprise'', it... More

I found this restaurant by accident and what a great accident it turned out to be. Interesting menu with good choices. We were more than happy with everything we ordered and the owner Pierre picked out a very good wine for us. The prices are affordable and I felt like I received great value for my money. I've dined at... More

We drove off the highway and found this wonderful spot. Fortunately there was a free table (it was very busy on a Friday night and next time we will make a reservation) The food was fresh and delicious and the service was prompt and friendly. The tomato tarte appetizer was well spiced with herbs, zucchini and chèvre. It was just... More

My husband was surprised that I had not given this restaurant the top rating of 5. He is not generous with praise, and so, if he thinks it is worth a 5, I figured I better go and look at my other reviews to see where I had, in the past, assigned a 5. The few restaurants to whom I... More

Food was very good, as was the wine wine. The restaurant is small, well decorated and service was good. Have heard, however, that restaurant may be for sale.

We decided about three days before to go out to dinner for a 30th anniversary celebration. such "last minute" for a Saturday night meal was not very good planning! All the really fancy spots in the area were solidly booked. Twice we were rudely advised "complet!" by other restauranteurs. Starting from our phone call, we could recognize that this restaurant... We came here by accident, looking for another restaurant that turned out to be closed - forever! We were so pleased to find this little gem - the name means Dilapitated Old House in vernacular French, and it is a restored old building with a folksy atmostphere and very professional kitchen. Pierre and Lynn run a very tight ship -... More
