Very good restaurant in the Eastern Townships

I've eaten at le Riverain many times during my stays at the Ripplecove Inn. In North America, only in Quebec can you find food of this quality in a small town far from the main cities. Without getting into the details of each dish, the food is generally very good and uses local products. Only the... read more

I have been going to this place for the past 5 years and it has never disappointed. There is this amazing feeling of timelessness when you step into this place. Service is excellent , food is great ( I have to admit slightly overpriced .. Has always been) , but the magic is here and this is why I keep... More

We decided to book a retreat for ourselves after a lot of family time over the holiday... What a smart move to have included a 2 day lovers' excursion at Ripplecove!! We've had three tremendous meals at Le Riverain so far, one more to go tomorrow morning - with a view on the snowstorm to boot! What a treat! We've... More

I remember how good the hotel and restaurant were when I visited long ago. We came up to the Ripplecove just for a lunch to celebrate a huge milestone with friends. We called ahead on that day for a reservation and were told no problem for a party of 4. We then drove 2 hours with a ridiculous border crossing... More

Overall great but the Rabbit dish I had was bland, dry and uninspiring. They were out of one appetizer (the one I wanted) at 7:15 on a Saturday. I realize this happens sometime, but to run out so early in the evening indicates poor planning on someones part. The coffee was terrible and didn't arrive until 10 minutes after we... More

With friends from this area we went to Le Riverain for lunch. We ate out on the back veranda enjoying both the water and the beautiful breeze. Lunch was superb. Two of us had the fish of the day, which happened to be bass, and 2 of us had the lamb kafka. All were very happy with their choices. Fish... More

The Riverain restaurant is located in the Ripplecove Lakefront Hotel, where my wife and I had a so-so overall experience (please see separate review). We'd eaten here many years ago and remembered the food and the cosy dining room, which features the front half of a very small fishing boat. The ambience is great and the food was wonderful yet... My wife and I stayed at the inn on returning from a visit to the U.S. and enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the inn's restaurant and a complete breakfast the following morning. We both agreed that both the cuisine and the service was of the highest order and of very good value.

Stayed at the Ripplecove for 2 nights in March with my wife. On the first night we had the 7 course Discovery Menu with wine pairings. The menu was: > Ceviche of halibut, marinated in lime, Espelette pepper > Bay of Fundy scallop and smoked Peking duck, tomato & mango salsa > Cromesquis & Brochettes of Standstead rabbit, with Dukkah...
