Food was good, but service needs attention

A group of us dined here a couple nights ago and had very mixed reactions about the evening. Some suggestions: 1) There's a sign asking clients to wait to be seated by the hostess.. waited a good 5 minutes before deciding to walk in to the dining room b/c no hostess was in sight. 2) We all... read more

We didn't stay or eat here, but stopped in during a bike ride through brackley beach. I'll plan to stay there next time. What an unexpected gem. It was an old summer residence with a wrap oround porch reminicent of times gone by with wicker seating and lots of spots for sitting with a cocktail or cup of tea. The... More

Had dinner here on July 18th during our honeymoon. Our server Morgan was incredibly sweet and polite and had great recommendations for us and was easy to chat with without hovering. We shared a charcuterie board which was amazing. The in house whole grain mustard was so good I was tempted to ask for the recipe and the assortment of... More

The sandwiches and desserts were amazing. But the tea was terrible and the China tea cups were chipped and cracked I personally would never consider serving anything in them. Least of all customers that expect high tea. Somewhat of a disappointment. As well there seemed to be no dress code. We had people wearing cycling attire and sleeveless shirts ..... More

A fellow traveler sharing a cab on a rainy night in Charlottetown told us about this place - waxed poetic about sitting by the fireplace. So we went, as you do. It's gorgeous - old money built it (can't recall his name) and old money come and stay (Will and Kate of UK royalty fame). Sit by fireplace - check.... More

Absolutely gorgeous hotel and restaurant. Went there for high tea and enjoyed every bit of it. The hotel has lots of history and has been beautifully restored and decorated. Wanted to see it as I loved the Road to Avonlea TV series and it is depicted as the "White Sands Hotel" Dalvay beach is also one of my favourites and... More

During our stay at Dalvay we were lucky enough to enjoy a couple of meals here. Not only was the food delicious, especially the lobster biscuit at lunch, the staff was wonderful and setting was spectacular.

We stayed at Dalvay by the Sea for 3 nights. We had a lovely time at the hotel. It was a perfect setting to relax for a few days. One night we decided to have dinner at the restaurant. It was fairly full and there seemed to be enough wait staff. But the service was terrible. The wait staff was... More

Enjoyed lunch here! Everything we tried was delicious, you should plan to dine here. We had the bouillabaisse & kale salad to start and could have licked the plates clean. The lobster biscuit was fantastic and we wished we had had room for dessert! We saw the trout salad & oysters at the table next to us and they too... More

My husband and I took our daughter there for her birthday dinner. This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. How disappointing to have such poor service and food. The waitress was lovely and sweet but had obviously had no training in service. Forgot to give us wine menu, water came late, knew nothing about the wine and had... More
