Good food. Terrible service.

We stayed at Dalvay by the Sea for 3 nights. We had a lovely time at the hotel. It was a perfect setting to relax for a few days. One night we decided to have dinner at the restaurant. It was fairly full and there seemed to be enough wait staff. But the service was terrible. The wait staff was... read more

Absolutely gorgeous hotel and restaurant. Went there for high tea and enjoyed every bit of it. The hotel has lots of history and has been beautifully restored and decorated. Wanted to see it as I loved the Road to Avonlea TV series and it is depicted as the "White Sands Hotel" Dalvay beach is also one of my favourites and... More

During our stay at Dalvay we were lucky enough to enjoy a couple of meals here. Not only was the food delicious, especially the lobster biscuit at lunch, the staff was wonderful and setting was spectacular.

Enjoyed lunch here! Everything we tried was delicious, you should plan to dine here. We had the bouillabaisse & kale salad to start and could have licked the plates clean. The lobster biscuit was fantastic and we wished we had had room for dessert! We saw the trout salad & oysters at the table next to us and they too... More

My husband and I took our daughter there for her birthday dinner. This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. How disappointing to have such poor service and food. The waitress was lovely and sweet but had obviously had no training in service. Forgot to give us wine menu, water came late, knew nothing about the wine and had... More

While visiting PEI this summer with family, I happened to stop in at Dalvay with my mother in law as part of our slow drive along the coast while other family members played golf. What a beautiful property and although it was the end of August they had the giant fireplace lit in the lobby. Have to say, the warmth... More

Stopped in for tea after a bike ride and had the "sticky pudding." Wow! Great dessert worth stopping for.

Stunning presentation and flavourful dishes. Everyone told us the Sticky Date Pudding was a MUST have, so we had to try it for ourselves. It was indeed as everyone said it would be...Delicious!

We enjoyed a nice stay at Dalvay this summer for 3 days. The cottage accommodations were lovely. The restaurant was nice and the breakfast was delicious. It did not seem to be suitable for families though. We have two small children. We love spending time on the water and made use of the kayaks however they only supply one child-sized... More

Stopped in for lunch with my parents while on vacation. Had a lovely glass of Italian pinot grigio I wish I could find in Ontario, chowder as an appetizer, and the lobster club for a main. Dad had the fish and chips which were excellent. The chowder was the best I've ever had. Big pieces of beautiful seafood in a... More
