The setting is lovely. The food was very good, especially the scallops, but somehow the experience just didn't cut it. Prices were expensive, so maybe I just expected more polished service and a more special experience.

I just went here for the first time, after driving by many times on the way to the beach. It's a lovely set of stores filled with beautiful items and a friendly staff. It's worth a stop! The cafe was closed when we were there, so we didn't eat.

During our tour of the island, we stopped at Dunes. Upon entering you see the artwork and pottery. Directly behind is the cafe. Our visit was too brief. Upstairs you can see an overview of the beautiful gardens with artwork from Bali. Directly behind the gardens is open farmland that contrasts nicely with the gardens. You'll want to make time... This is our first time at the Dunes this year. We arrived on time and were immediately shown to our table near a window to allow us to see the beautiful gardens. The hostess was helpful and explained the evening special, served us water and introduced us to our server. The menu was varied and we began with a green... More

Some neighbors in our present RV Park (KOA Cornwall, PEI) tipped us to this outstanding restaurant. So, for our last meal out in PEI, we went to the Dunes. Eclectic pottery, wood carvings and jewelry at the gift shop, and the restaurant was five star. Wife and I both had a bowl of the chef's "award winning" fish chowder, and... More

We had a lovely lunch here overlooking a beautiful garden and artists works. The lobster quiche was plentiful and delicious. Overall , a little pricey... $3.50 for coffee.

This rating is for the restaurant only. We had lunch there a couple of weeks ago while spending the day at Brackley Beach. We were a little disappointed that we could not sit in the garden for lunch, but they said they were having problems with wasps. Then again, I'm glad they were honest and didn't try to make something... More

My wife and I had a late lunch at the Dunes Cafe and really enjoyed it. We were in a bit of a rush, so shared 3 dishes that came out together: -Seafood chowder: really nice and good texture, right amount of saltiness. Lots of different seafood and scallops were large (not the small kind)! Only thing that would've been... More

Great ambience and food , have the seafood chowder , shop with a glass of wine while you wait for food , really worth the trip , prices reasonable , sit upstairs for the view of the dunes off in distance

The Dunes is one of my favourite stops in PEI . The building is a wonder in itself, the grounds are spectacular , the pottery is beautiful and tastefully displayed, however I was quite disappointed in our meal and the service in the Cafe this year. It seemed like they were under staffed and the menu has undergone changes too,... More
